Art Show | A few weeks ago I met up with famous abstract graffiti artist Morten Andersen in his studio in Berlin for a small shooting. Back then he was preparing artworks for two different exhibitions. One was the collaboration show together with Base23 which already took place in Cologne. The other is his first solo-show in France which will open its doors this Friday at Galerie Itinerrance in Paris.

Abstract Graffiti: Morten Andersen in Paris

The show, entitled “Elevated, looking down from a distance”, includes several new canvas works showing colorful patterns in his unique style…

“Each of his pieces of art contains a real cosmos. With spray cans and brushes, he creates the color, and with his markers, he weaves a strange network of lines. Transparent glazes combined with stretching lines expands the space to infinity. This outer space hosts a thousand forms, from the solid area rigorously geometric to sudden painting drops, giving all their power to his abstract artworks.

Mixing shades of gray and unexpected colors, the universe of Morten Andersen is a perfect balance between its spontaneous forms and meticulous lines, two ingredients matured during his decade of graffiti, which he kept all the energy.” (press release)

I’m pretty sure this exhibition will be a big thing, so make sure to go and visit the opening if you’re in Paris this Friday! If you like to see some first background photos, take a look at the exhibition’s photo-album. For more info about Morten, check out m-andersen.com.
