When I first wrote some lines about the Swiss artist driven Amateur Magazine a year ago I was keen about the high content and print quality of the around 100 pages magazine. Since then I’m well supplied with their issues and became a fan of their nice stories, great interviews and topical diversity. And that’s the reason for me to introduce the latest issue of this print publication to you as the first part of the announced Urban Art Books & Mags Special.

Amateur Magazine is an independent print publication with an open eye on Swiss and international urban art, illustration, design, DIY cultures and streetwear.

Amateur 009 differs slightly from its predecessors by being a Brooklyn special featuring some really interesting New York City based artists like ASVP, Grotesk, LNY, Sp.One, Anthony Pontius and many more. And again, the Amateur crew collected together a great mixture of somehow urban and contemporary art related artists, artworks and news, what makes it a fantastic reading for me and - I’m sure - for every other urban art enthusiast!

Although edited and printed in Switzerland, the English-speaking Amateur Magazine is available around the globe in different places and can also be ordered online. So there’s no reason for you not to grab your own copy! I warmly recommend it.
