As a part of the International Design Conference in the “Haus der Kulturen der Welt” in Berlin, there will be a photo exhibition about Arab revolution graffiti as well as a book presentation and lecture by Pascal Zoghbi - 19.-21. May 2011.
Arabic Graffiti – Exhibition
On May 21st, Common Ground Gallery Berlin will present an exhibition about Arabic graffiti and hosts the official book release party.
Arabic Graffiti brings together artists […] who merge Arabic calligraphy with the art of graffiti writing, street art and urban culture. In addition to a rich assortment of photos featuring Arabic graffiti and street art styles, it includes essays by distinguished authors and scene experts, in which they explore the traditional elements, modern approaches, and the socio-political and cultural backgrounds which have shaped Arabic graffiti movements in the Middle East. Sounds really interesting and of course inspiring, for what reason I will definitively take a closer look at this book! In my eyes it’s worth for every graffiti enthusiasts or writer to expand the own view on other alphabets to get in touch with new forms and to be inspired by alternative styles…
Just grab your copy now, visit one of the release events or take a look at the online preview!
