Moniker - Urban Art Fair London
For those of you who like the commercialization of street art, the next month will be pretty interesting: In Berlin, the “Stroke.3 - Urban Art Fair” will take place between October 7th and 10th (more about that commercial street art event later!) and in London, the “Moniker - International Art Fair” will take place between October 14th and 17th. Because I’m currently in London, I’ll write about that Moniker-event first…

Abstract Graffiti: Delta Exhibition
I totally forgot to write something about that nice abstract graffiti, installation, architectural art exhibition by Dutch graffiti legend Boris Tellegen aka Delta, which took place last week in Paris. I’m glad that the Street Giant posted some photos from the show…
With exposure around the world, the artist has been praised for his non-traditional approach to graffiti art. This tribute exhibit featured Delta’s most recent works at the Doors Studio in Paris. (streetgiant.com)

SPQR Stencil Art Exhibition
Monochromatic Shades, the stencil art exhibition by famous political stencil artist SPQR, is running for one week now at Signal Gallery in London. A few days after the opening I visited that very interesting and highly critical urban art show to take some photos…
SPQR is exploring the Art of Protest/Protest Art conundrum. He looks into the ability of Art to protest about the evils of society as he sees them. Included in his line of fire is the art world itself, with is fashions and favourites and at it’s core, a hollow commercialism. Themes that recur for the artist are ‘surveillance’ culture, brainwashing media and the need for acts of defiance to counteract these ills. This is brilliantly achieved in his work, with a tough humour, which is distinctly lacking any sentimentality or soft edges. (Signal Gallery)

Jimi Hendrix Stencil Art
I’m sure, some of you already noticed that there was Jimi Hendrix’ 40th anniversary of the death a few days ago. To commemorate that famous person, London-based stencil artist Fin DAC created an astonishing series of unique stencil artworks and prints, showing Jimi Hendrix’ portrait.
Of course I visited that art show and took a closer took to the four fantastic, large-scale and unique spray-paintings on wood, newspaper, copper and iron. Take a look at my photos, I think there are no more words needed…

Nychos’ Graffiti Show Photos
Nychos’ graffiti horror show, which opened yesterday at Pure Evil Gallery in London, is a great success. A lot of people joined the opening (yes, some these crazy hipsters were there, too!) and marvelled at these gorgeous comic-style paintings, drawings and graffiti. Some were really scared by the horrifying scenes, brilliant!
The Austrian Illustrator and Graffiti artist NYCHOS, who is mainly known for his prolific street art concept the Rabbit Eye Movement, is set to rock the foundations of the London establishment, combining his original comic styling with heavy metal attitude. (Pure Evil Gallery)

Stencil Art: Fin DAC commemorates Hendrix
London-based stencil artist Fin DAC, who recently visited Berlin to create some astonishing stencil artworks, will commemorate Jimi Hendrix on the 40th anniversary of his death tomorrow.
At Red Bull Studios in London, Fin will release his 16-colour, hand finished “Hendrix: Still Reigning, Still Dreaming” print and complete one of the four unique original pieces on wood, copper, metal and a newspaper collage canvas.
Fin DAC’s striking image of Hendrix possesses a bold and edgy quality, yet also offers a harmonising ambience, illuminated by the kaleidoscopic protrusion of colour. Seventy hand finished limited edition prints and nine special edition prints with extra hand finishing and layers will be available on the night, before their official release on September 18. SPQR - Monochrome Stencil Art
In addition to that fantastic graffiti horror show by Nychos, there will be another interesting urban art exhibition tomorrow in London: British stencil artist SPQR will open his “Monochromatic Shades” stencil art show at Signal Gallery, exploring the art of protest, brainwashed media and the evils of society.
SPQR is an artist from the West of England whose work has the ability to take the challenge of Banksy head on and produce a body of mostly stencil based artwork which has it’s own brand of ‘humour through protest’. Unlike Banksy, he has not been interested in developing hype and PR frenzy. In fact, he has actively avoided ‘selling out’ to the more commercial and cynical end of the Street Art movement. Nychos’ Horror Graffiti
Tomorrow is going to be a great day for urban art enthusiasts in London! Three big graffiti and street art events will take place and one of them is the graffiti Horror-Show by famous Austrian graffiti artist Nychos, who is the creative head behind the “Rabbit Eye Movement”. It’s his premier solo-exhibition in London, so it’s your first chance to take a closer look at his phenomenal illustrations, spray-paintings and that great comic-style…

Exhibition Dickheads?!
Today I’ll not show you up-to-date street art news, the latest mural artworks by Blu or Banksy’s most recent art installation, but something totally different: Since I’m in London it becomes really usual for me to go to urban art exhibition openings having guest-lists, queues in front of the entrance and free beer as much as you need (and even more). In Berlin it’s quite different and so every art show is always exciting for me.

Urban Art Sculptures: Boy Soldiers
Earlier this month, the urban art sculptures exhibition “Boy Soldiers” by fine artist Schoony and the Graffik London gallery opened it’s doors for the public. With a lot of better known street and graffiti artists on the guest list, the opening at the Blackall Studios was really successful!
Each of the 25 participating urban artists (“the UK’s top artists of the current UK and European art scene”, as Hooked wrote) designed one of the fantastic Boy Soldier fibreglass sculptures by Schoony and created in that way some really good and especially unusual urban artworks.
