As I already mentioned here, here and here French Da Mental Vaporz crew (DMV) is my most favorite European graffiti crew. Recently they came up with a beautiful behind the scenes video…
The Crew Da Mental Vaporz was born in 1999 at the initiative of Bom.k and Iso in the Paris suburbs. Soon joined by Kan, they stand out by making huge frescoes in the sordid land of the southern suburbs, giving the most to topics outside the tradition of graffiti (hitherto confined to the sacrosanct lettering / comic book character bubbles). Thus, their productions, that can extend over tens of meters high and long, depict the monstrous madness, upholstery and imminent end of time.
With the 2000s, Jaw Cavaillon joined the group for the pardon of his characters contorted and wacky lettering. To strengthen the team, Grey answers the call with his mastery of the codes of old school graffiti art and its vector of madness. It is followed by Lyon Brusk, master of vandal mention 3D, which will introduce Dran and his childlike touch of cynicism in the community. Finally, in 2008 Sowat succeeds with strokes of calligraphy flops idiots and barbarians, to convince the DMV to let it be… and discreetly to blacken the picture somewhat, it will bring in her bags and her dolls Blo fringed dislocated.
Recognized both individually and collectively, the DMV are making monumental murals and exhibitions throughout Europe, Latin America, New York, Moscow and Australia. The DMV produce works that have an energy like no other, combining their individual style, old school lettering in calligraffiti, combining figurative painting with a touch of black humor.
