# Live Stencil Art: Ben Howe in Hamburg

Today is the Down-Under day. Some hours ago I wrote that article about [the Australian graffiti artist The Yok](/the-yok-fresh-stuff/) and now I will write a small post about the upcoming stencil art show by **Ben Howe** in Hamburg. Yes, you are right, Ben Howe is also an Australian urban artist...

The upcoming show is called “Schism Overwrite” and will present his most current stencil artworks and I heard, that he will make some live action - maybe a live painting!

> “The bulk of his work circles issues of representation, structure and consciousness.  Coming from a background of hyper realist painting, Howe often produces the initial subjects in sculptural form, and uses them as the basis for his artworks.
>
> The finished pieces possess a severe beauty, and are at once psychological, provocative and absorbing.
> Other works have more political leanings and initiate dialogues concerning gentrification, aesthetic beauty and mass movements.” (about Ben Howe)

Pity that I can not be there. I hope that somebody will publish some niche shot from the opening, which will be this Saturday at the [Assoonas Gallery](http://www.flickr.com/people/assoonas/).
