Berlin’s street art scene flourishes through historic rebellion, diverse artistic communities, and iconic locations like East Side Gallery transforming urban landscapes.
Berlin stands as one of the world’s most important street art capitals, with a vibrant scene rooted in the city’s history of political rebellion, cultural transformation, and artistic freedom. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 created unprecedented opportunities for artistic expression on vacant buildings and abandoned spaces throughout the reunified city.
The iconic East Side Gallery, featuring murals painted directly on remaining Wall sections, symbolizes Berlin’s transformation from divided city to unified cultural center. Neighborhoods like Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, and Mitte showcase diverse artistic styles from traditional graffiti writing to large-scale murals, stencil art, and experimental installations.
Summer Street Art Berlin
What an amazing weather! The sun is everywhere, it is hot and I had some time to walk through Berlin-Kreuzberg for taking some photos of Berlin’s summer street art. Today I decided twelve of them to give you a nice insight into what happens on the streets in Germany’s capital.
There are, in addition to some great stencil spray paintings by Emess and C215, a lot of paper artworks by Alias, Mean Marek and the three Israeli street artists Foma, The Drip Up and Klone, who recently visited Berlin, and a new piece by famous graffiti artist Roa, who is in town at the moment. Furthermore some rather inspiring urban artworks by less known artists leaped to my camera’s focus…

Hamburger Stencil Art in Berlin
Tomorrow, the two Hamburg-based stencil artists Mittenimwald and Dash3Ultra will rock the Berlin city with their urban art exhibition at ATM Gallery! They will show their latest, completely contrary stenciled spray paintings, which is the best base for an exciting street art show…
When I visited the Papergirl #5 exhibition opening last weekend I was able to cast an eye on some of their artworks and was really impressed.
On the one hand, Dash3Ultra’s stencil artworks - By the way, he is a member of the reknown Hamburg-based stencil art crew ASA - is characterized by a scurrile pixel-style. On the other hand, Mittenimwald combines commerce and punk to a detailed urban-inspired mixture.

Urban Design: Peachbeach Exhibition
Next week, the three Peachbeach-boys will exhibit at Berlin’s West Berlin Gallery!
Peachbeach is a fraternity of three village delinquents who wound up in the great capital of Berlin because of its vibrancy and dazzling colours. Harnessing varied cultural backgrounds, we were able to use different expressive accents to our advantage, fusing the most diverse creative approaches into one edgy mix of illustrative force, sensitive typography and ironic societal games. Tape Art: BUFFdiss in Action
In addition to the nice Wooster Collective meet-up and the Mode2 live-painting I was on the run with Australian tape artist BUFFdiss. Armed with some rolls crepe tape and wearing some darker clothes, he created two nice tape artworks on an old industrial area…and while he taped around, I took some dark action photos!
BUFFdiss started creating tape artworks several years ago and moved in that way on from the traditional graffiti and its spray-cans…it was really impressing how fast he made the artworks ready and at the same time we both were impressed with the reactions by some passing people, who were really wondering about what he did…

Mode2 Live Painting Photos
As I mentioned some days ago, famous graffiti artist Mode2 painted live in Berlin yesterday! The outstanding artists created a great mural artwork at the “Jacki Terrasse” in Berlin and I was allowed to take some photos of the otherwise camera-shy artist and his doings…
It was really great to see how easily he painted that rough wall just with brushes. The new wall now shows a collection of different rawish characters and creates for that reason a very comfortable urban atmosphere. The great thing about Mode2 and his mural artwork is, that he painted everything without having any sketch on paper or some thing like that…I was really impressed!

Mode2 Live Painting
Mode2’s latest urban art series was about porn and nude people and I’m very curious to see whether he will also paint one of his amazing bold nude portraits this weekend at the “Jacki Terrasse” in Berlin…
Mode2, one of the founding members of the Chrome Angelz, has struck a bridge from traditional graffiti and cartoon-like characters to realistic human figures. For that reason, his latest artworks, combining graffiti-inspired sketches and contemporary drawing art, were part of the “Post Graffiti Art” called exhibition at the Lucas Carrieri Art Gallery in Berlin!

Wooster Collective in Berlin
A must for all urban art lovers and street art enthusiasts is the big Wooster Collective meet-up in Berlin this Saturday! As Marc and Sara Schiller mentioned, it will be a interesting meet and greet of “a terrific group of artists, designers, and art fans”…
Although I can’t imagine that anyone doesn’t know the New York-based Wooster Collective, here are some lines about them:
The Wooster Collective (Wooster is a street in the Soho section of New York City) was founded in 2001. This site is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating ephemeral art placed on streets in cities around the world. (Wooster Collective)

Abandoned Place: Teufelsberg Berlin
It’s the third time, that I have PictureReport in the program. The first time I wrote about the filmmakers crew was last winter, when they published that beautiful urban winter atmosphere video. And then, four weeks ago I wrote about the first two parts of their abandoned places series.
This time, I write because they filmed another known abandoned place in Berlin: The NSA station Teufelsberg Berlin, which is empty since Americans and Britons left the listening station in 1991. The entire area is abandoned since 2000.

Klone: Israeli Street Art in Berlin
Alien-like creatures waked up in the streets of Tel Aviv several years ago, when internationally known street artist Klone began to paste-up his extraterrestrial artworks. Now he’s in Berlin and placed some new colorful paper artworks.
Formerly known as graffiti artist Make, Klone started pasting hand-drawn paper characters, which should replace his tags and throw-ups, about 5 to ix years ago…
The predator characters developed after a long process, when I’ve been working with my oneline drawings, trying to define a character in one line and parralel I was working on series of more realistic paintings of real predators incorporating them into my streetwork, I wanted to create something new, something that might make people think a bit different, so i came up with charaters that combine the animal and human features, people got disturbed and eventually embraced the new and the weird species in the city.
