C215 creates emotionally powerful stencil portraits of marginalized individuals, establishing intimate human connections through precise urban art interventions globally.
C215 has established himself as one of the most emotionally resonant voices in contemporary stencil art, creating intimate portraits that humanize marginalized individuals often overlooked by mainstream society. This French artist, born Christian Guémy, developed a distinctive technique that captures extraordinary detail and emotional depth through multi-layered stenciling, transforming mechanical reproduction into deeply personal artistic expression. His subjects frequently include elderly people, refugees, children, and other vulnerable populations, presented with dignity and compassion that challenges viewers to reconsider social prejudices. C215’s work extends beyond mere portraiture to encompass broader themes of social justice, human rights, and community solidarity. His global presence – from Parisian backstreets to international walls – demonstrates street art’s capacity to create universal emotional connections across cultural boundaries. Through careful placement in both urban centers and marginalized neighborhoods, C215’s interventions serve as powerful reminders of shared humanity, establishing street art as a medium for social consciousness and empathetic engagement with contemporary global challenges.
The Street Art Stencil Book
Some days ago, I stumbled upon a crazy stencil art book, which contains real cardboard stencils maybe 20 famous stencil artist from around the globe! Its name: “The Street Art Stencil Book”.
When I first saw the book I thought “Oh, aha, another of these stencil art documentary books…” but when I took a closer look, I found these ready stencils and was dizzy. “The Street Art Stencil Book” includes articles about artists like Pure Evil, Blek Le Rat, XOOOOX, C215, M-City and others and, as I already said, an original stencil of each of them:

Stencil Art London - C215
Today I visited the amazing stencil art exhibition by French stencil artist C215 in London’s Signal Gallery!
Although photos say generally more than words, I want to tell you that C215 also did some really nice and colorful artwork outside on the streets. So if you’re also currently in London, walk down the streets nearby the gallery!
C215 has made a name for himself internationally as a street artist, second to none. For the past 5 years, he has been taking himself across the world, to major cities and small towns and ‘decorating’ their street walls with his own special brand of beautiful and intricate stencil artwork. His approach has always been to get involved with the street and get the inhabitants to enjoy and appreciate his contribution to their environment. (Signal Gallery)

Fine Stencil Art: C215’s Midnight Dreams
For one week now, the “Midnight Dreams” stencil exhibition by French urban artist C215 is running in London’s Signal Gallery and it seems to be a great one! C215, whose latest exhibition took place in Paris, is well-known for his amazing, highly detailed stencil artworks he put up around the world. By the way, some month ago he gave me an nice interview…
Midnight Dreams will be C215’s second solo show with us at Signal. In the show, the artist is moving away from reproducing works whose origins are on the street. He is developing a style that has more fantasy and independent imaginative force. Inspired by colourful memories from his childhood in Orleans, the work that will be shown will retain the fabulous use of intricate stencil work, with a freshness, lightness of touch and brilliant use of colour, that has not been appropriate in his street work to date. C215 Exhibition in Paris
I love this amazing stencil art stuff by Christian Guemy alias C215. This and the fact, that he is one of the most talented urban artists I know, are the reasons for the interview I did with him some months ago.
C215 Exhibition in Paris
Since this Monday, his recent solo exhibition is taking place at the Pierre Cardin Gallery in Paris.
I was happy about that date, ’cause I visited the French capital and street art metropolis at the same time, but unfortunately I had a full schedule - meeting Vito & Romuald, making a street art tour through Belleville (photos will be uploaded soon), documenting the “Graffiti meets Thalys” event and so on - so I could not visit the impressive C215 exhibition.

Stencil Art: C215 Interview
He is one of the greatest stencil artists of our time. Some time ago he made a double exhibition in Berlin’s Intoxicated Demons Gallery and ATM Gallery. If you have not heard of C215, you should better be careful, because we have spoken with the nice, world-travelling, French artist about his art and his motives!
uac: Who are you? Where are you from? And what means C215?
C215: I am a street art junkie, 35 years old, living in Paris. C215 is just my name, coming from a cell where I stayed a long time ago. It sounds like Chris, but with numbers. I love to hear it said in different languages.
