A month ago, I told you about that very interesting art book by king calligrapher Niels “Shoe” Meulman. Now it’s, in addition to the Modart No. 01, in my possession and I’m very happy about that!

With prologues by John Langdon and Adam Eeuwens, who are internationally active graphic designers and typographers, the about 120 pages book impress with high-quality photographs of Shoe’s artworks as well as with some great digital vector artworks.

A good idea was to shortly describe every motive in the end of the book, because often it is not comprehensible whether the writing was done by brushes or with a computer…

“Shoe revolutionized the art of writing with Calligraffiti, an art form that fuses calligraphy and graffiti. He launched this movement in 2007 with a successful solo exhibition in Amsterdam. Since then, his Calligraffiti pieces (signed NSM) can be seen in various international exhibitions.” I really love “Calligraffiti”, because it contains a lot of amazing and very exactly and detailed artworks. It fascinates me to see, what Shoe is possible to do!

If you are interested in strokes, logos, calligraphy and/ or graffiti, you should buy that book - It’s amazing! Here are some insights:
