Collection in 9 parts · Backjumps to Artbase, 2009–2012

Berlin’s festival years

Backjumps, Wallbreakers, the first Urban Arts Award, Street Lab, Artbase Grabowsee and Artbase at Teufelsberg: the festivals and fairs that gave Berlin’s scene its calendar.

Berlin had no single festival in these years but a string of them, each with its own idea of what urban art in a city should be. Read them in order to watch the scene move from a Kreuzberg exhibition series to an abandoned sanatorium and a Cold War listening station.
