Doomessenz - Massive Canvas Collaboration

Last week, I followed Berlin-based Quintessenz Creation crew and Danny Doom to their exhibition setup at OZM Gallery in the creative heart of Hamburg city! Entitled …think of all the stories we could have told, the Danny Doom meets Quintessenz show presents a large number of their own canvas works including screen prints, paintings and experimental technique mashups as well as massive canvas collaboration works, combining all their different styles, tastes and color-preferences. This interesting mixture makes the art show a nice starting point for those who want to see the latest urban-inspired art trends from Berlin! ...

Modern Dopeness - Contemporary Berlin Illustration Styles

In April, Berlin’s one and only sticker-museum Hatch Kingdom and illustrator Ink-a-zoid are going to present a group exhibition of the finest contemporary Berlin illustration styles! Presenting latest works not just by Danny Doom, Hr.v.Bias, Aro and Ink-a-zoid himself but also by other illustration-inspired artists, the show combines computer-generated artworks with dirt and coffee made ones and graffiti-influenced stuff. Hence, Modern Dopeness mirrors not just a current particle of Berlin illustration, but gives a insight into this new generation of mixed-media artists I already wrote about yesterday… ...

Quintessenz Creation feat. Danny Doom

Next month, the popular Berlin-based Quintessenz Creation crew (remember their great stop-motion videos True Colors or Color my Kingdom?) and well-known painter Danny Doom (here some shots of his latest show) will together have an exhibition at OZM Gallery Hamburg, presenting amazing collaboration artworks, bringing together the colorful, comic-like characters by Doom and the style-diversity and print-affinity of Quintessenz… Their both foibles for experimental works, breaking borders of plain canvas paintings and their graffiti backgrounds are superb preconditions for an exciting show with striking artworks of different size and medium. I’m really looking forward to this show and will try to come to Hamburg for the opening, as they’re not just great artists but also good friends of mine! ...

During the IBUg 2011 preparation week I got the chance to document Berlin-based urban artist and creative mastermind Danny Doom aka Desur aka Doctor Doom while creating some nice paintings using spray-cans and brushes… Danny Doom started with graffiti, got into painting and traditional design till he ended up mixing traditional and digital art.
