# Explosion Wall Art by Vhils

*Urban Destruction Art* | Almost a year ago I showed you my love for this kind of rough and energetic urban art by publishing a big fat [interview with Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto](/vhils-act-of-destruction/) aka **Vhils**! Now he’s back with a big [bang](http://blog.vandalog.com/2011/02/vhils-blows-things-up/)-[boom](http://www.hookedblog.co.uk/2011/02/vhils-x-orelha-negra-collaboration.html)-[bang](http://www.stencilhistoryx.com/2011/02/23/video-vhils-x-orelha-negra/) and jumped in from zero to hero with these awesome exploding wall...

> I try focusing on the act of destruction to create; this is a notion I first came across in Graffiti, and it has been very influential in my work. I believe we are all formed of different sets of layers: personal, social, cultural, historical and so on. (Vhils)

The entire slow motion action is a collaboration with Portuguese soul, hip hop and jam band [**Orelha Negra**](http://www.myspace.com/orelhanegra) and the music clip for their catchy song called M.I.R.I.A.M...

In my opinion, this very performance would be great to have on the next urban art festival, brilliant!
My friend Mr. Target gives away [signed Orelha Negra vinyls and signed Vhils books](http://www.stick2target.com/orelha-negra-x-vhils-giveaway), by the way. So join the contest and pickup yours...
