Giants in Berlin

For the last three days, the giants visited Berlin! I was on the streets today to take some photos of the big and very impressing marionettes.

Me and thousands of other people were astonished about the vitality, the giants radiated. The parade was a huge spectacle with live music, confetti and cheering people… If you want to get some impressions, take a look at my photos!

“spielzeit’europa | Berliner Festspiele and the legendary French street theatre company Royal de Luxe present The Giants Arrive – A Fairy Tale for Berlin: an open-air theatre spectacle to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

On their way through Berlin the two marionettes “Little Giantess” and “Big Giant”, which measure up to 15 metres in height, will tell a fairy tale about a reunion after years of separation. At significant Berlin sites such as Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden and Rotes Rathaus, they will delight an audience of millions and resurrect the overwhelming emotions of 1989.” (press release)
