Bathroom Graffiti - Art or Pastime?
In my opinion, you could identify a good bar or event location by its bathrooms. Not that I need to have a clean toilet - what I need are some dirty tags, sketches or slogans on the walls! And I think, that Mark Ferem thinks the same…
Mark is the author of the first “Bathroom Graffiti” book, which presents on about 190 pages personal expressions inspired by privacy.
*If you’ve ever used a public restroom, chances are you’ve read some bathroom graffiti, or at least noticed it. Often bawdy, funny and smart, sometimes illegible, it is a ubiquitous means of expression found across the world.

Urban Art Photographers Update
Today I updated one of my most successful articles: Top Urban Art Photographers!
With Ian Cox, MJay, Ozkar and Norman Behrendt, four more great urban art photographers were added to the list, which contains the creme de la creme of urban art photography.
For me, the work of these photographers is very important. They fight against the incredible transitoriness of graffiti and street art and also document urban atmosphere in their own styles. It is really interesting and impressing to see the different interpretations of urban art photography!

Graffiti Fine-Art: Futura 2000
Beyond doubt, Futura 2000 ranks among my favorite graffiti-artists. His old style made him famous - his new style is clear and modern.
Born in 1955, Futura started to paint illegally on New York’s subway in the early seventies. He earned a lot of fame and exhibited together with other popular artists like Keith Haring in the eighties.

Some days ago, I received a package from BMW Switzerland (the owner of Mini) with some of the corresponding “Wash Me” books in it!
For that reason, I will give away three of these books to you today! All you have to do is to twitter a link to this article up to and including January 22nd, 8pm. Please, don’t forget to mention me (@berlinpiraten), otherwise I’m not able to find out who participates and who not… Tomorrow evening I will randomly decide three of you who will get the books for free.

The Art of Graffiti Removal
I never understood the thinking of house owners, caretakers or inhabitants, who like gray walls and always paint over graffities, tags and other paintings with gray paint. For this reason, I also can’t understand, why they don’t use the same color in which their house was painted before!?
Because of that, a large number of houses look like rag rugs - A shade of gray here, another there, it’s all right as long as the wall is gray and not colorful or even artistical.

Ten very different car-styles were created by the very different artist, whose single similarity was, that they never painted a car before.
