Herakut Train Tracks Mural Commissioned by the city council of Mannheim, Germany’s most famous urban art duo Herakut upgraded the Rhine-Neckar metropolis some weeks ago with a massive train track mural titled Brothers helping Sisters helping…! The piece, being located in Mannheim’s Glückstein Quartier, shows a row of at least twelve people hugging each other. Facing the tracks, this new Herakut train tracks mural now welcomes all visitors entering the city by train. Wow! ...

Martin Hawkes and his video team filmed famous German urban art duo Herakut while painting a pretty nice mural in Stavanger on the west coast of Norway! The mural, which shows a girl and a couple of monkey in that popular mixture style of photo-realistic graffiti and damn rough painting, was part of the Nuart Festival and was built in 2011… Nuart is an annual international contemporary street and urban art festival established in 2001. From the first week of September an invited international team of street artists start to leave their mark on the city’s walls, both indoor and out, creating one of Europe’s most dynamic and constantly evolving public art events. A few months ago, Terence Pratt shot a nice time laps video of a Herkaut mural creation progress! Germany’s most famous urban art duo spent some weeks in Los Angeles, creating some amazing wall paintings presented by the Do Art Foundation! Herakut Mural Art Although I photographed Hera and Akut a few times now (e.g. in London and Berlin), it’s great to the the both creating those amazing murals! Furthermore I hope they will go on traveling the world as they did in 2011 - I’d like to see more Herakut mural art around the globe! ...

After The Laughter is the title of the second, upcoming book by publisher Publikat about one of my favorite urban art duos Herakut. Telling the story behind their stories, the hand-made scrapbook with 240 fully collaged pages on which Hera and Akut share the good sides and the bad from the second half of their collaboration years (2009 to 2011) includes not just fantastic insights into their creative process and details of their great artworks, but also - and I’m really happy about that - some of the photos I took, documenting their mural in London! ...

After the Blu mural, also the famous urban art duo Herakut recently painted a new mural as a part of the CityLeaks festival in Cologne! Although the majority of you will be not able to understand the interview they did (don’t ask me why it’s not subtitled…), the video gives some nice insights into the creation-process and is for that reason worth watching… If you like to see some more of Hera and Akut in action, check out the installation they did in Newcastle, their mural in Yekaterinburg or the live-painting in London! I for one can’t get enough of their rough but also detailed style… ...

I’m pretty sure you already heard about the new installation famous German urban art duo Herakut recently created in Newcastle, but have you also watched the nice interview they did with OneThirty3? Invited by famous UK-based artist Hush, Hera and Akut painted an entire room in not more than three and a half day. The clue, the room has been open for the public just for one evening earlier this month! ...

Urban Art | Seems to be quite cold over there in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg at the moment! Nevertheless, the famous urban art duo Herakut hit the streets of this snowbound city and created, by assistance of the neighborhood kids, another huge mural in their well-known style of rough street-influenced lines and photo-realistic details… Although I didn’t master the Russian language, I somehow understood (by the help of a famous translation tool) that this mural was painted on a wall of the local protectory for children and that the corresponding documentation is part of an upcoming documentary about this children’s home, which is called “Our House”! ...

Herakut is probably the most famous and popular urban art duo from Germany. Their impressing mixture of rough, dirty painting and photo-realistic elements is well-known all over the world. In October, I met both of them at the Moniker Art Fair in London and had the chance to document their live painting at Village Underground. I really enjoyed watching them painting one of these typical London brick walls and in my opinion they did a great job again.
