Yesterday, Stefan Strumbel’s exhibition “Home Sweet Home” opened at Berlin’s Circleculture Gallery, which will run until June 10.

Strumbel’s artwork series, which is part of that new art show, became very popular around the world, because of its great connection of traditional arts (like the cuckoo clocks handicraft) and modern spray-paint culture. He combines his own graffiti-background with craft accomplishments of his homeland.

Added to that he found a creative and often funny way of dealing with the paradigms of “home” on an abstract level.

*Strumbel exaggerates these objects of popular cult and culture with elements of urban art and pop art. By doing so, he puts these objects into a new, partly provocative context. Significant elements of the cuckoo clock, such as traditionally carved ornaments, are replaced by aggressive motives that stand for violence, pornography and death.”

I hope I will have some time next week to visit the show for taking some nice shots of it. For more info, visit circleculture-gallery.com.
