Christmas is over, so I will again have time to write some nice articles about urban art and culture for you. I hope, you had a nice Christmas and got some nice gifts. Did you know that we will have some Russian street art here in Berlin?
Inky is the remaining part of the Russian street art duo Incubus Project, which gain a lot of popularity while their participation at the graffiti and street art festival “Names” in Prague in 2008. With the futuristic style of their complex collages, they created some great and interesting eye-catching urban artworks.
Inky proceeds the creative work of the former duo and will exhibit his actual artworks next month at the ATM Gallery in Berlin:
“Inky graduated from the St. Petersburg College of Art with specialty in painting, and is now completing training at Saint Petersburg’s Academy of Art and Design as an architect. Both of these disciplines influence and drive the creativity of the artist, formed his style, and defined the themes of his work. Inky is interested in formal architectural forms and structures equally with leading graphics and picturesque.
ATM Gallery is proud to present Inky’s first solo show in Berlin, where he will display a number of new works that were exclusively produced for this particular exhibition and have not been shown in public yet. We can look forward to an artistic expression that moves between socialistic propaganda and futuristic modernism as well as connecting East and West.” (press release)
