As [Arrested Motion](http://arrestedmotion.com/2010/10/update-jr-the-wrinkles-of-the-city-shanghai-biennale/) wrote, the *“photos will be pasted up at locations that he feels speak to the heritage of a city that has definitely has its share of ups and downs”*. After his participation in the [“Abu Dhabi Art Fair”](/jr-abu-dhabi-art-fair/) in 2009 and the fantastic [“Women Are Heroes”](/women-are-heroes-time-lapse-jr/) project, “The Wrinkles of the City” is JR’s latest urban photography project and is supported by Magda Danysz Gallery. > For this project, JR starts by doing portraits of elderly people who represent the memory of the city he picks for its interesting past. Conjunctly JR interviews each person as they are the witnesses of all the changes the city went through. Then these portraits, printed in monumental sizes, are pasted in the very same city in various places that inspire JR and also represent the city heritage. I love that man! ![jr in shanghai]() jr in shanghai ![jr in china]() jr in china
