Cave Berlin Gallery

For month now, the boys and girls of Cave Berlin are hardworking to make it possible to open the new, but still secret gallery space near Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin for the public. Now I heard that it’s probably April 27th, when Cave is going to open their three art spaces to the public, showing five artists and their works… But until then, there’s still lots of work to be done, as James Bullough and Addison Karl (JBAK) just showed when they painted this new collaboration mural in the Cave’s backyard, combining their contrasting styles into a mashup of antonyms: realism vs. illustrative, expressive vs. precise, hard vs. soft, black vs. a spectrum… ...

Originally from Baltimore and Seattle the two urban artists James Bullough and Karl Addison (together known as JBAK) are pushing urban art in Berlin for round about a year now, creating colorful murals (like the purple one they did last year) by combining photo-realism, geometric forms and fine line drawing styles. JBAK - Urban Art Berlin Though their styles and approaches are different, their shared interests in art and culture and their desires to experiment within the limitlessness of their mediums, brought them together. Their mutual love of travel, urban societies, and the people who inhabit them, led to the development of a more cohesive theme of unity and humanity. Karl Addison & James Bullough, Mural in Berlin

Urban artists Karl Addison and James Bullough recently finished their new purple mural art works in Berlin! Curated by Etsy and in between the heart of Kreuzberg, the mural shows an elderly women by Addison - the idea of life, inspiration and history - and Bullough’s trademark arrows and combines in that way energy and life-experience. As James informed me yesterday, in addition to this funny mural there’s also a nice video they just put together, which documents the entire project.
