Klub7: Exploring the World of Urban Art

As Klub7, Dani Daphne, Diskorobot, Mike Okay, Kid Cash, Lowskii, and Otto Baum have made a name for themselves with their street art as well as the murals, customizations, and illustrations which they create on various surfaces. Since its inception over 10 years ago, the Berlin-based collective has progressively and continuously expanded its oeuvre. Recently, the Klub7 crew opened a exhibition at the Gestalten Space in Berlin, as Mark Jenkins and Xoooox did before. Urban Art Weekend Tip | Tomorrow evening, another interesting urban art event will take place in Berlin. Do you remember these graffiti kids back in the eighties who painted their names or those of their crews on their jeans jackets? To pay homage to these so called backpieces, the German creative crew Klub7 organized an interactive exhibition this weekend! Supported by Molotow, Levi’s and other brands, urban artists from different background including Bronco, Gogoplata, Flying Förtress, Peachbeach, Poet, Tika, Tower, Superblast and others will wear their own customized jackets at the “Party Arty Vol. 34 – Klub7 Special” party. So you will have old-school and new-school writers, illustrators, street artists, painters and fashion freaks in one location! ...

The Berlin-based Redspective label is currently showing amazing typography posters and prints by the two urban and typography artists Otto Baum (Klub7) and Sven Neitzel (Nepomuk)! Dot per Dot is a collaborative project between Otto Baum and Sven Neitzel focusing on blurring the border between illustration and graphic de sign. The two designers use self-made type faces and playful drawings in order to attempt to shift these borders. It was the aim of the two designers to interpret old gra phic forms and create a new approach to design. The exhibtion will also include older works from the artists past 2 years. Today I noticed, that there’s currently a new street art documentary called “No Art No Street” in production. Seems to be really interesting also because of the corresponding artists like Klub7, 44flavours, Danny Gretsher and Stör. No Art No Street, a 52-minute documentary is the fourth film in the documentary series Dasein Projekt. It is a street art documentary that focuses on walls as a painting, and the way they create themselves as such, and evolve between urban micro-interventions and the exchange between artists - artists who are regularly brought to collaboration through their common medium: these walls that unite them all. The German Klebstoff magazine is a sticker magazine which consists only of stickers. Yes, it’s a bit crazy, but very successful! After the first issue with its 1000 copies was sold out after only four weeks, the Sticker Mag crew did another one: The second issue contains on 46 pages more than 100 stickers by 24 more or less famous urban sticker artists, including Klub7, Dan Witz, xXcrew, Eko, 1010, and others… ...

“Holz51” is a great name for that “back to basics” collaboration of the two well-known Berlin-based urban art and design collectives Klub7 and 44Flavours. Some days ago, the corresponding art exhibition opened at the Neurotitan Gallery in Berlin… 44Flavours as well as Klub7 are popular for their incomparable style and the alternative ways in creating their artworks. Their art is by and large unique in the German urban art scene, what makes it every time interesting to see what they created new… ...
