After I wrote about the Style Wars rescue, I just stumbled upon another urban art related Kickstarter project: The Wall - London’s Most Public Gallery is public art project whose aim is to transform the well-known brick facade of London’s Village Underground (that’s the wall where I photographed Herakut, Titi Freak and others…) into an permanent art space including bullet proof metal and glass frames to protect the art work from theft and vandalism…
Although I like the idea of turning a gallery inside out by exhibiting in the streets (that’s how street art started like a couple of years ago), this in my eyes is a quite controversial project. The reason for that opinion is quite simple: Glass frames, digital walls, etc. will destroy the pure beauty of this somehow unique space.
Nevertheless, I’m not quite sure about this project, so check it out yourself and let me know your thoughts about it - maybe you can find some arguments convincing me!
