MadC: Explore the World of Iconic Graffiti Art

MadC Layers Exhibition End of the week, famous female graffiti artist Claudia Walde, better known as MadC, is going to open her next solo-exhibition at 44309 Gallery in Dortmund, Germany! Entitled Layers, the show will present new works made using spray paint, transparent spray paint, ink, watercolour and acrylic paint… Her letters flow into each other and parts of one letter borrow parts of another. Everything is connected; one part can‘t be without the other. Thus, her work is a reflection of our modern life where everything and everyone is connected through the Internet, cell phones, social networks and the media. Open Streets is really interesting-looking documentary about the so-called post graffiti/ urban art scene. Put together by French Shock Films collective, the film features with Belin, Cope2, ECB, Klub7, MadC, Monk.E, One Hate Seven and Nychos several worldwide well-known artists who left behind street art and graffiti and stepped further to what usually is called post graffiti or urban art… Open Streets is about this important development in the public art scene and tries to explore reasons, motivations and ideals of its creative protagonists. Famous German writer MadC just opened her recent solo graffiti show Between the lines at LaGrille Gallery in Switzerland and of course several people took loads of photos of her latest artworks, including in addition to brilliant canvas works, also a hand-printed, limited edition of a four colors, signed and numbered silkscreen print. Graffiti Design | I’m pretty sure, you all can remember the fantastic “700 Wall” graffiti project by famous writer MadC. She started a year ago to create first sketches for a massive 700m² wall and finished last December! The result of her work was not just a brilliant wall but also for instance round about 1500 empty spray-cans. Using some of these empty spray-cans as the base material she had a chair built, which is called “Mad-700” and in addition to the fat cap chair another example for successful graffiti-inspired interior design. ...

Graffiti Mural | It’s top graffiti news today (1, 2, 3), famous graffiti artist MadC finally finished her huge graffiti wall! At the beginning of this year, the probably most well-known female writer started to sketch the single elements for that giant 639m² wall. Since then, the spectacular graffiti project went on and on and now it’s over! Some days she went up and down the ladder more than 500 times, painted more than 4 months every day at least 10 hours. MadC used 1489 Molotow Premium cans; 158 different colours; 600+ caps; 3 different kind of caps, 100 liters primer; 140 liters exterior paint; painted at temperatures from +2C° to +38C° in sunshine, rain, storm, day and night; painted her biggest and smallest piece so far and overall painted her name far more than 100 times on this wall. MadC was born in 1980, is an active graffiti artist for almost 14 years and is one of the most popular female writers worldwide… MadC is known for massive and detailed concept walls. At this years beginning, I wrote about the spectacular graffiti project, called “700 Wall”, by famous graffiti artist MadC. Recently she published some new, grandiose sketches, which will be submittals for the eventual wall style. “The wall is extremely long, so I decided to do the concept like a pan in an animation with a lot of three-dimensionality to give the feeling of actually standing in the rooms.
