…and then we hit the streets. Phone booths, bus stops, news stands, subway entrances, the platforms of our transit systems, the insides of our trains, the walls of our city, the tops of our cabs, our buses, inside and out, carry private commercial messages to us as we moved through the city. All of these messages carry outdoor advertising to a captive audience, creating desires where there were none before, for products we scarcely need…
For that reason, Neko planned and implemented colorful guerrilla light interventions, taking over former ad spots in an artistically way! In my opinion, Neko’s urban interventions go hand in hand with the street advertising takeovers in Berlin and Madrid, Ludo’s co-branding and the billboard art by Ox!
For me, fighting back the regular advert-jungle in our cities should be the main target of creative, urban protest…so support those actions and spread the word!
