description: It’s time again for a link-tip collection! Because it’s been quite a week for me at least I had no time to post about these great street art actions, urban hackers, graffiti artists, documentaries and urban artworks...

# Outer Space Tag, Abstract Graffiti, Urban Hacking, Sculptures & Political Action

Because I had a lot to do for university this week I didn’t had that much time to write. Nevertheless I collected some interesting urban art news during the last days, which is why I’m able to give you an more or less detailed overview about what happened on the streets around the world. Here’s what I wasn’t posting about while I was busy writing scientific papers for different professors...

- Marc and Sara Schiller (aka the Wooster Collective) talked about [*Gaming The Streets: Uncommissioned Art*](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZcbOyKxW2M) and finding unexpected artworks in NYC at TEDxBloomington...

- The mega-rich sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan build the probably [biggest tag on earth](http://ilovegraffiti.de/blog/2011/07/21/hamad/) - It’s one kilometer high and three kilometers wide and for that reason visible from outer space!

- After the opening of his [Berlin exhibition](/roa-exhibition-berlin-photos/), Roa created a [new wall in Kreuzberg](http://just.ekosystem.org/BLOG/?p=2389)!

- Vhils recently published another video documenting the [explosion artworks](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQUUknfjqNY) he did for Levi's in Berlin.

- Deterrent - Sil Krol created a great [CCTV meets hangman](http://www.ektopia.co.uk/ektopia/2011/07/21/deterrent/) installation in Rotterdam!

- Here’s the documentary of the *Death From Above* pavement [installation by D*Face](http://arrestedmotion.com/2011/07/streets-dface-death-from-above-pavement-installation/)...

- *Just Do It - A tale of modern-day outlaws* seems to be an extraordinary interesting film about [worldwide political activists](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zavTd31qxho)!

- Recently [a short documentary](http://verynearlyalmost.com/blog/2011/07/19/rudimentary-perfection-recap/) of the [*Rudimentary Perfection*](/abstract-graffiti-masters/) exhibition was published!

- Graffuturism put up a nice feature about Berlin-based abstract [urban artist Clemens Behr](http://graffuturism.com/2011/07/20/clemensbehr/) showing some of his best cardboard installations.

- Also Alex One did a outstanding [street performance](http://graffart.eu/blog/2011/07/alex-one-performance-at-yverdon-street-art-graffiti/) in Yverdon.

- In Japan it seems to become popular to [paint those huge gas tanks](http://www.invasianmagazine.com/art/painted-gas-tanks-japan.html). Does anybody has some more info?!

- John Powers creates massive [abstract sculptures](http://beautifuldecay.com/2011/07/15/john-powers-polystyrene-orb/) by putting polystyrene blocks together by hand! It’s just amazing.

- Do you ever wanted to know how the [studio of US street artist Specter](http://blog.vandalog.com/2011/07/a-studio-visit-with-gabriel-specter/) looks like? RJ has some nice insights!

- *Fabrique | Hacktion* is an interesting [urban hacking project](http://www.rebelart.net/diary/fabrique-hacktion-pimp-your-city/0010135/) by three students who add useful stuff the the urban environment.
