15 Meters Space Invader Game

15 Meters Space Invader Game

With a 15 meters high Space Invader game, urban installation artist Luke Egan aka Filthy Luker just invaded Manchester! Made of road work barriers and traffic cones the Space Invader game is fully interactive - the required software comes from Jnr Hacksaw - what makes it becoming something like a center of attraction in the city of Manchester… The project is a work in progress and under deconstruction, coming to some scaffolding near you soon! ...

New Huge Roa Hedgehog in London

New Huge Roa Hedgehog in London

Famous Belgian muralist Roa recently put up a new huge hedgehog on Chance Street in East-London’s Shoreditch! Roa, who visited the British capital again for his Hypnagogia show at Stolenspace Gallery, created in that way a new pilgrim shrine for new and old fans of his renown portrayals of large scale urban wildlife, hand painted in his distinctive black and white style. After spending several weeks in Australia, this new Roa hedgehog is the first mural he painted in Europe for a long time and I’m pretty sure it will be a good reason for all the Olympics tourists to visit Shoreditch… ...

Who is Smash 137?

Who is Smash 137?

Smash 137 is one of the most prolific graffiti artists in Europe and although some say, he is slightly exaggerating his (I would call it) abstract letter-layer-style, he still is one of my personal heroes when it comes to taking graffiti into galleries! For his upcoming show Beautiful Struggle at Speerstra Gallery in Switzerland, a short Who is Smash 137? video preview was published, presenting not just first views on the new Smash 137 canvas series, but showing also the master himself in action… ...

Advertising Carousel by Florian Rivière in Berlin

Advertising Carousel by Florian Rivière in Berlin

Self-proclaimed urban hacktivist Florian Rivière is in Berlin right now. Inspired by the hackers culture, the Frenchman reinvests and diverts public space to allow citizens to reclaim their environment. His interventions, located between urban design, DIY and upcycling (upgrading waste), have the particularity to be spontaneous and raw, exclusively made with objects found in the street, and always with humor… Games, furnishings, traps, maps, instructions… so many urban tactics to show the functionality of sites, and direct action of the user on urban space. (Florian Rivière) ...

Monokrome - Black and White Graffiti Book

Monokrome - Black and White Graffiti Book

Compiled and written by old school UK writer Robert Whitelock aka Cute, the Monokrome book on 224 pages includes world class black and white graffiti designs by some of the major graffiti writers from around the world, including Nash & Does, Remi Rough, Hush, Asker, Itch, Inkfetish, Killer Gerbil, Denz, Kofie, Inkie, System and many more! Furthermore, Monokrome presents blackbook works from 31 featured artists and interviews with all of them and shows the talents of a mixture of worldwide artists with many different styles, and quotes from a handful of writers. And although it reminds me somehow on the urban illustration book Schwarz auf Weiss - Style needs no Color, the first impressions I got via the flip through below were all in all just positive. ...

Jeff Soto - Robotic Graffiti Mural

Jeff Soto - Robotic Graffiti Mural

Jeff Soto is an artist, illustrator, muralist and now the first one ever who painted a graffiti mural, supported by a so-called robotic street art car! As some of you should have already noticed, I’m a big fan of technology meeting art and although this is a stupid car commercial (Soto got some beef by Ben Eine afterwards!) I would love to have such a robotic car myself for some nice painting action in Berlin. Just imagine what great fun you could have and you know what I mean! ...

Top Of Shard Tower

Top of Shard Tower The Shard Tower already dominates London’s skyline and will become Europe’s tallest building when construction work is finished. If you’re interested in the resulting photographs, check out the Top Urban Exploration Photographers! ...

Obey the Giant - The Shepard Fairey Biopic

Shepard Fairy aka Obey The Giant is not just the head behind the well-known Obama election poster and this cover for Time Magazine’s Person of the Year 2011 issue. No, he also is one of the early-birds of the international street art movement, a true legend if you like to call it that way and for that reason got his tribute in one of the latest The Simpsons episodes! Now, Shepard is going to get his own first film: Obey The Giant - The Shepard Fairey biopic… ...
