Freedom Park Berlin

Freedom Park Berlin

Do you remember the Berlin Wall Freedom Park exhibition which was created for the 50th anniversary of the beginning of building the Berlin Wall in 1961? Recently the organizing Dudes Factory published a nice video documenting the creation process and including some nice statements by participating artists like Nunca, Anton Unai, Miss Van and McBess! The Freedom Park is a monument to the memory of the happiness that was brought through the fall of the berlin wall in November 1989, but should also represents a wake-up call about the problems of our times. ...

Banksy, Myths & Legends

Banksy, Myths & Legends

For some (like me) he is just a very popular street artist, for others he is a legend, worth to write down all the myths around him… In his book Banksy: Myths and Legends, Marc Leverton collected stories about Banksy himself. Compiled between 2009 and 2011, some of these stories have been told so many times they have become the stuff of legend, while others are more questionable and can best be described as myths. ...

After that marvellous 15th issue of UK’s VNA magazine, some weeks ago the next one was released including a large feature of French tile/ pixel artist Invader! Urbex: After The Final Curtain

Urbex: After The Final Curtain

Today I have a nice hint for urban explorers or urbex enthusiasts who are fascinated by abandoned architecture: Matt Lambros is a photographer based in New York City, urban explorer and runs the After The Final Curtain blog, a photographic documentation of the effects of years of neglect and decay in some of America’s greatest theaters. What first sounds like a time-consuming obsession is just a great way of preserving and presenting forgotten and lost cultural symbols! ...

Clemens Behr, New Cardboard Installations

Clemens Behr, New Cardboard Installations

My friend, Berlin-based urban artist Clemens Behr recently updated his website and added some neat photos of his latest cardboard installations from Amiens, Paris, Berlin, Vienna and Malmo and again - after these dope installations in New York and Barcelona - I’m highly impressed about what’s possible to create by simply using cardboard, tape, wood and paint… Behr has taken his work into the public sphere, building peculiar appendages in metro cars and erecting detailed miniature cities on street corners. (about Clemens Behr) ...

Artconnect Berlin: Artists Network

Artconnect Berlin: Artists Network

I’m pretty sure, some of the Berlin-based readers already heard about Artconnect Berlin, nevertheless I have to write some lines about this new networking platform for artists, because I like the idea behind… Artconnect Berlin is a free tool for Berliners and provides you the opportunity to have an online portfolio, tag yourself by your skills, and find or be found by other creative heads. Additionally you have the possibility to offer jobs, and post classifieds about material, studios and general questions about Berlin and it’s creative scene.
