I just stumbled upon new artworks by Italian street artist Teo Pirisi aka Moneyless from Strasbourg and have to say that I like his experimental street installations. Moneyless creates the next level of what the Spanish La Pluma Eléctri*k street art crew calls Spider Tags: Two and three dimensional abstract installations made of cotton threads combined with geometrically paintings. The results are often impressing, especially when the installations look like wafting through the air… ...

Mode2 is one of the most famous graffiti artists in Europe - his skills in bringing painted characters to live are well-known around the world. This is why I’m always happy to find one or another new mural he created in the last months in Berlin! Tomorrow, we all have the chance to watch him in action… As a part of the Radical Riddims exhibition opening at the Schau Fenster Gallery, a live art performance by Mode2 is planned. He will create a new mural painting! In my eyes this is a must to see for every urban art enthusiast. I will definitely try to catch up with him… ...

Several weeks ago I already posted about the nice new mural artworks by urban art superstar Roa in Mexico. Back then, I didn’t know that his works were well documented on film by Filmaciones de la Ciudad, what’s really good, because we have now the chance to watch him painting… The Belgian graffiti artist travels the world since a few months, for what reason you can find his works in Madrid, London, Paris, Berlin and other metropolises! I for one like Roa’s animal graffiti stuff, and it’s always impressing to see how some skilled artists are possible to paint those massive walls… ...

Today is the day for some first official words about my upcoming urban art photography exhibition in Berlin! Entitled Urban Artists in Action - Another View on Street Art & Graffiti Westberlin Gallery will present selected photos of my Urban Artists in Action series, featuring some well-known street and graffiti artists from around the globe! His close knit, almost family bonds with prominent street artists from both Berlin and around the world including Buff Diss, Morten Andersen, FinDAC and Remi/Rough naturally developed into a large collection of intimate photographs following studio visits and street actions of some of his, and our own favourite heroes. ...

As already mentioned the French urban art festival Crimes of Minds is going on and on. Every month a group of A-level urban artists is painting several wall in and around the small city of Brest! For those of you, having no time to travel to Brest, the Crimes of Minds team recently published another video presenting the latest artists painting in the city Morten Andersen, FinDAC and Sly 2. Looking forward to get some photos of the next artist-group including Solo One, C215 and Herakut!

This graffiti documentary looks just great! Obsession Of Colours documents graffiti artists in Poland’s Tri-City area, which is an urban area consisting of three Polish cities: Gdańsk (where the Streetfiles photo exhibition took place in 2009), Gdynia and Sopot. There isn’t that much info about this new Polish film project right now but I can tell you, the footage is mind-breaking! Including fantastic angles, unusual points of view and great lights, I’m pretty sure Obsession Of Colours will become the next highlight of graffiti documentary and a must to watch for all graffiti enthusiasts and documentarists… ...

One year after those great Apple iPad ad-bustings in Berlin, the trendy computer giant is going to open a flagship-store in Hamburg. That’s nothing special - I mean nowadays there are Apple stores everywhere - but it’s a super moment for a nice and funny guerrilla art installation! And that’s what also the Hamburg-based intervention art group .WAV (what stands for We Are Visual) thought when they recently installed a big and colorful Microsoft Windows logo right at the construction area of the new Apple flagship-store! ...

I personally met Spanish street artist Rallito X first when I visited Madrid earlier this year. Yesterday I hook up with him again, this time in an abandoned area in the eastern part of Berlin, to explore the rooms of this old sausage factory and to extend my photo-collection of urban artists in action… In the end, Rallito, whose dirty monster paintings are often garnished with comic-like dicks and provoking slogans, found a nice spot on the very top of the building, for what reason I had some special butterflies in my stomach during the whole action. Nevertheless the results are great again: Berlin has a new crazy monster character and my collection has some nice, new photos! ...

I just noticed, that French urban artist and master of rectangular shaped calligraphy and geometrically forms L’Atlas (who was recently in Berlin!) created a new public installation in March at the Place du Palais-Royal in Paris! Using 2722 cartons he and some assistants spent one day to build (and destroy) one of his well-known geometrically signs in 3D. I really like this work and think that this is again a good example for the diversity of L’Atlas! Watching the video (which is a stop-motion film containing 2754 photos) I tried to imagine what all the tourists around thought is going on…

Crazy Australian-born painter and installation artist Anthony Lister is going to come to Berlin next week for a big fat experimental art marathon! For 6 days and 6 nights he will live in Berlin’s Project Room being permanently creative and watched online… Tools, brushstrokes, spraypaint, electric guitar, doubts and hopes, hate and love, heroes on the walls, fallen dreams, questions and answers, visibles and invisibles - Mr. Lister will take the challenge to paint about, with and for Berlin.
