Fine artist Benjamin Laading has a foible especially for large-scale fat-cap paintings. That’s not that unusual - I mean, who doesn’t like a good fat-cap tag? - but the interesting thing about his paintings is the fact that they aren’t done with a spray-can but with markers or brushes! Berlin-based street artist Emess, who is well-known especially for his nice stencil collages, came up with a new project back in 2010 which is called City Music. This public art project is about acoustics in urban space, including beautiful sound-installations powered by urban wind power or even escalators! I just fall in with that astonishing collaboration art show by Remi/Rough and Australian artist Stormie Mills at Unit 44 in Newcastle. Both put together their totally different styles, combined Remi’s colorful, abstract graffiti lines with Stormie’s crazy, monochrome characters and created for that reason some eye-catching artworks delighting with somehow scary scenes in dope atmospheres… Remi/Rough and Stormie Mills have been traveling all over the world together for well over a decade now. Born 1985 in Koblenz, Germany, urban-influenced artist Clemens Behr creates large-scale installations for years. Using a mixture of cardboard, wood, paint and tape, he builds abstract landscapes constructing sudden, complex and ephemeral architectures in both, abandoned warehouses and on the streets. Working with recycled materials and basic geometric forms, Behr dreams up installations that result in subtle confusions between 2D painting and 3D objects. ron english - studio visit The crew of itdrewitself.com recently hook up with famous US-American painter, interventional and pop propaganda artist Ron English for a small photo-shooting in his studio. Yes, Ron is the guy who is that famous for his billboard-bustings that he has his own vinyl action-figure and who did that crazy “Cloud Graffiti” stuff two years ago! All the more it’s of-course interesting to cast an eye at his most private working area, although it doesn’t look like a studio but like some kind of Ron English museum… ...

Fin Dac in Brest As already mentioned, stencil artist FinDAC and abstract graffiti artist Morten Andersen currently painted at the Crimes of Minds urban art festival in Brest. Recently Fin published some first impressions of one of his murals and arouse in that way a burst of enthusiasm, for what reason I don’t want to withhold those photos from you! I met FinDAC first during my London-trip last year and was quite surprised when I got to know that I is - with good reason - a well-known stencil artist on the Isles, because I haven’t heard of him before. His mainly Asian-inspired stencil motives are characterized by really detailed handwork, sparkling shadows, complex patterns and a good pinch of freehand spray-painting - his brilliant Jimi Hendrix stencil artworks are good examples! ...

The last time I wrote about British urban artist Word To Mother was after my visit of his exhibition opening at Stolen Space Gallery in London. Now I just stumbled upon this dope video by Andrew Telling showing Word To Mother painting for the Fame Festival in Italy back in 2010. Born and raised in a small English seaside town, never far from a stoney beach, crashing waves and salty sea veterans. sam3 in poland Mural Art | In the last months a lot of new large-scale mural artworks were created by famous urban artists in Poland - One good example is this amazing jazz time mural in Szczecin, another the new Blu wall in Krakow. Recently street art legend Sam3 hit the streets of Poznan and also created a new huge mural artwork! The painting, which again is done in his well-known shadow technique, shows a human being circle orbiting around a glowing ball. Entitled Power to the People, this artwork is dedicated to Spain’s May 15th movement of young people protesting all over Spain and appeals really powerful in my eyes… ...
