Graffiti Exhibition | One of my favorite graffiti crews in Europe is - since I met some of them at the Meeting of Styles in London - the French Da Mental Vaporz (DMV) collective including the famous graffiti artists Dran, Bom-K, Brusk, Sowat, Gris, Jaw, Blo (who recently had an exhibition in Berlin), Kan and Iso. Now this marvellous crew is going to reunite for an exclusive group-exhibition at the GHP in Toulouse… After 5 years of hard work the guys in GHP are closing the venue. Graffiti Magazine | Today I first got to know the graffiti mag Sandblast, which “is the first magazine to cover the Middle Eastern graffiti scene in depth.” (Invasian) Including interviews, photos and background-stories, the first issue of the Magazine which will be out in July features graffiti and its protagonists from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq and Egypt what’s a quite interesting thing with all the riots, protests and revolutions in mind! Urban Art Festival | After Best Ever and Ben Slow now highly talented London-based stencil artist FinDAC and well-known Berlin-based abstract graffiti artist Morten Andersen rock the city of Brest! It’s the second episode of the urban art festival “Crimes of Minds” which is organised by French graffiti artist Liliwenn and the non-profit organization Sugar Rush… The idea behind that event is to bring the creative flair of the big metropolises around the world to this small French town and to document the artworks as well as the artists at work and additionally the reactions of the citizens. For that reason there will be a book recapitulating the entire “Crimes of Minds” process! ...

Street Art Show | Well-known street art collector and curator Rik Reinking did it again. Since the beginning of this month, his next street art show with the somehow extraordinary title “Street Art - Meanwhile in deepest East Anglia, thunderbirds were go…” presents mind-blowing artworks by some of the most popular (street) artists around the globe at Kunsthalle Barmen in Wuppertal! Modern Urban Art | A few days ago i stumbled upon works of an urban artist I haven’t seen before, what literally spoken is not that unusual, but this time my mouth formed a smile and my brain told me that these artworks are rather new, fresh and - what’s all the more important - unique. Portuguese street artist Eime (don’t mix him up with Eine!) creates inspiring painting combining stencil-techniques and abstract painting elements! For me it’s always fantastic to see street artists conquering borders and creating is that way new, outstanding expressions. For the Taildrop Graffiti Jam 2011, Eime’s creative process was documented, which makes it for example possible to see, that he doesn’t spray-paints his stencils, but - as some of you know as color by numbers - paints all the different tones by hand with a brush… ...

blu kracow mural Mural Art | The master of European mural art Blu recently finished another masterpiece wall in the beautiful Polish city of Kracow! Although I don’t know whether the mural’s chief subject - a big bell - is somehow special, this time’s topic seems to be religion and its stupid noises you can’t fail to hear… In addition to all the other fantastic wall paintings Blu already created in Europe, this again is a great example of politically-inspired urban art.
