Krink vs. Dior: Mean Intervention!

Krink vs. Dior: Mean Intervention!

Last year, I posted an article about Swedish interventional urban artist Glitsh and the parking space tape art. Today I found another great project by Glitsh: The Krink vs. Dior paint battle! It’s a relative easy and mean intervention, but really good as I think! Glitsh organized some red nail varnish by Dior and some red ink by Krink and decant the Krink into the nail varnish’s tank. Afterwards, the artist boxed the krinked nail varnish and an additional flyer into the original Dior box and placed the modified cosmetic utensil back in a Dior shop. ...

Graffiti Book: Name Tagging!

Graffiti Book: Name Tagging!

Everybody knows these popular Hello My Name Is stickers, which had their great time some years ago. In these days, Graffiti artists started to write there name tags on that more or less cheap sticking papers, begun to stick them up in the cities around the world and started in that way a new mass attack on lampposts, traffic lights, mailboxes, etc. In Name Tagging, graffiti photography legend Martha Cooper presents a dizzying array of Hello My Name Is stickers adorned with tags, the origin of graffiti and today’s street art cultures. Cooper’s introduction, artist interviews and photographs make clear how artists famed and anonymous take advantage of the accessibility and practicality of nametag stickers. ...

Os Gemeos Graffiti Show - First Pics!

Os Gemeos Graffiti Show - First Pics!

Lisbon-based street artist and blogger Target is maybe the biggest agitator of the current graffiti art exhibition by worldwide popular graffiti artists Os Gemeos. He recently visited the show and took some photos: I got there quite late as it was less than an hour to close, and between meet and greets and taking some pics, the actual art visualisation got lost in the time. I can without a doubt asure you I’ll be back for a more relaxed view of the show, since there’s always so many details going on, it’s impossible to find every line they draw on a single hour. (by Target) ...

Banksy Street Art: Only Advertising?

Banksy Street Art: Only Advertising?

Some days ago, I asked what do you think “is the deeper meaning of Banksy’s Child Drawing Series? and got a nice answer by Ringo45… Almost at the same time, the Globe And Mail newspaper from Toronto, which was one of Banksy’s traveling-stations, published an very interesting review of the Banksy street art by Toronto street artist Posterchild: Q: As a street artist yourself, what are your feelings about Banksy being in Toronto? A: I would like to have seen Banksy visit Toronto for its own merits and not simply coming to promote his film. Should we feel honored that he’s decided to paint our walls or should we feel outraged that he’s come here … for self-promotion, for advertising? (Globe And Mail) ...

Skateboarding in Abandoned Swimming Pools!

Have you ever skateboarded an abandoned swimming pool? If not, your chance has come! It’s relative easy: All you have to do is to travel to one of these small villages in the United State like Fresno, find one of these empty houses with its big swimming pools, clean the pool and start to skateboard! And if you take some cans with you, you could paint the pool afterwards, like street artist D*Face did it some month ago… ...

Mural Art: El Bocho Live in Berlin!

Mural Art: El Bocho Live in Berlin!

Berlin-based street artist El Bocho did a nice mural in one of Berlin-Friedrichshain’s party locations some days ago! It’s a very interesting, dirty styled piece of urban art, showing three nice girls. El Bocho is well-known in Berlin and also in Hamburg for his ongoing paste-up story about the often brutal Little Lucy and her poor kitty as well as for his large-scale paintings of women faces… Unfortunately he traveled a lot in the last month and did a few exhibitions, so that he apparently had not so much time to be creative on the streets…Hopefully he will use the upcoming good weather for being more active in public space! ...

Os Gemeos: Biggest Graffiti Event?

Os Gemeos: Biggest Graffiti Event?

Attention graffiti lovers around the world - The famous graffiti-twins from Os Gemeos, Otávio and Gustavo will have their newest exhibition in Lisbon, called Pra quem mora lá, o céu é lá, which means something like For those who live there, the sky is there! The show, which will start tomorrow evening at the Museu Berardo in the Portuguese capital, seems to become an well-attended international graffiti event. My friend Target even finds that the Os Gêmeos exhibition will be “one of the biggest events of the year not only for any graffiti enthusiast, but for any art lover.” ...
