Between the 19th and 22nd November, there was an international art show in the United Arab Emirates, called the “Abu Dhabi Art Fair”. Around 50 galleries from the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States presented artworks. One of the exhibiting artists was famous French street artist and photographer JR! He created a large scale wheatpaste installation in the center of the UAE’s capital. When I saw the exclusive photos the first time, I was really shocked, because of their great atmosphere. ...

Yesterday evening was the vernissage of Artiste Ouvrier’s stencil art solo show in Berlin. The Parisian artist started with street and especially with stencil art in the early 90’s. In the last years, he exhibited around the world, e.g. in Paris, Barcelona, Vienna, Hamburg and London, and made himself a reputation as an outstanding stencil artist. In Berlin, he will now present his new series of artworks about the historic battle from Waterloo, called “Pochoirs Normands”. ...

Joao Wainer is a photographer who lives in São Paulo and documents the Pixação Graffiti in his hometown. He already released several photographs and videos about that unique urban art and writing style, which comes from the favelas into the big Brazilian cities. For this reason, “Cool Hunting” did a nice and interesting Pixação graffiti video with him. In this short documentation, he explains some letters and talks about the ideas behind that graffiti movement. Unfortunately, the video is some month old, but a must to see. Recently, the community for youth culture in China “NeochaEDGE” and the “Chinese Knowledge and Innovation Community” (KIC) collaborated to bring these 8 protagonists and about 16 other creative groups together.
