Street Art | Italian stencil art duo Orticanoodles recently published photos of their latest stencil art series, which could easily been described as next level stencil art with a nice liability to absurd pop styles. The overlaying topic of theses new works, including artwork titles like “Pop Never Die”, “Skate or Die” or “Pop Uber Alles” (showing Mr. A. Hitler), seems to be death or dieing in general. Around 100 urban artists from all over the world, including 3ttman, Bronco, El Tono, Jerm IX, Know Hope, Ludo, Luzinterruptus, Rero, Skount, Various & Gould and others, joined the “Madrid Street Advertising Takeover” (MaSAT) which recently took place in the heart of the Spanish capital. Urban Photo Art | Berlin-based creative collective Mentalgassi, which is well-known for their fantastic paste-up installations, recently hit the streets of Spain and created some new amazing wheatpastings as a part of the Getxo Photo festival. Mentalgassi is a collective of three artists that was set in Berlin. They are engaged in urban intervetion, transforming urban elements using specially chosen images. Through their creative concept of turning “monotone cities” into places more fun, Mentalgassi has been in Getxo wheatpasting some bottle banks, making it more fun to go to recycle glass. Photo Paste-Ups | French photographer and urban artist JR is in Shanghai to paste-up a new series of street photographs of elderly Chinese people. Adbusting | French street artist Ludo, who is also known as Nature’s Revenge and became famous by pasting paper artworks showing combinations of technology and organic live, recently started a new street art series called “Co-Branding” in Paris. Additionally they will officially kick off a legal defense fund for artists called “Kids Are Really Against The Empire”… Kids Are Rallying Against The Empire (K.A.R.A.T.E.) is a grass roots effort we hope to eventually turn into a non-profit organization.
