Pisa73, one of the best stencil artists I know, will start his new urban art exhibition, named “Grains of Wrath”, in Berlin this Friday!

Pisa73 – Foul! Repulsive! Detestable!

The show will present new (spray) paintings by the Berlin based artists with a focus on institutional and corporate authority and its traditional misuse of power.

“Drawing primarily on the events of Walpurgnisnacht at the end of April each year, when riots commonly erupt in Berlin, Pisa73’s latest series of work depicts moments of unmitigated aggression between police and protesters, but does so with a pervading stillness, a disconcerting calm, that undermines the chaos that these subjects suggest. These fleeting images depict the transgressions of public disobedience, but are rendered quietly in elusive scenes that only reveal themselves upon careful reflection and meditation.” (Wilde Gallery)

Pisa73’s artworks combine creative fine stencil techniques and acrylic painting with his graffiti, punk and skateboarding backgrounds and have been exhibited alongside artists such as Swoon, Shepard Fairey, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.

“Grains of Wrath” by Pisa73 will take place at the Wilde Gallery in Berlin. Opening is this Friday, 7pm.
