description: In my eyes, plane graffiti is next level train graffiti even if the painted aircrafts are old and abandoned. It’s a view you will never forget and for that reason I love the Boneyard Project!

# Plane Graffiti - Boneyard Project

Writing about boneyards usually is not my favorite exercise, but after that phenomenal [neon sign boneyard in Las Vegas](/las-vegas-neon-sign-boneyard/), I have to write about the *Boneyard Project* today!

## Plane Graffiti on Abandoned Aircrafts

What started with a somehow disturbing [promo-video](https://vimeo.com/20801654) almost a year ago, recently resulted in amazing plane graffiti: More than 30 artists have participated in the Boneyard Project’s Round Trip including DC Super 3 planes painted by graffiti artists **How & Nosm**, **Nunca** and **Retna**, a C97 cockpit by **Saner**, a C45 plane by **Faile**, and a Lockheed VC 140 Jetstar by **Andrew Schoultz** (via [aviationpros.com](http://www.aviationpros.com/press_release/10602299/round-trip-art-from-the-boneyard-project))!

*The Boneyard Project is not simply a unique opportunity to give major contemporary artists an amazing canvas of being able to make art out of a plane, it is a chance for us all to examine our own cultural relationship to airplanes and to the archetypal ideal of traveling through the skies.* (Boneyard Project)

It’s just amazing to see those old, abandoned (military) jetplanes being reused as canvases for some of the most talented graffiti artists!
