At the beginning of the year I wrote an little article for the German Bigod blog about a very interesting project from the US, called “Empire Begins”. Today I will bring this article up to you!
Not in the mountains, not in the country and certainly not to relax! Bicycle in the city - In the urban agglomerations, where the traffic is so dense that any overtaking is an adventure. Where one gets momentum by holding on a car. Where only reflexes and skills play a role. Where every mistake can be deadly. There are these boys and girls at home, on the streets of New York!
Empire Begins is the first part of a film series, which tells and documents a story of this daring urban bike couriers and stunt bikers in the heart of New York City. Whether rapid action on the main streets of Manhattan, or nice tricks in the side street, the trailer for the film promises an interesting mix of both, coupled with an accurate insight into the great urban landscape of the million-metropolis.
If you are wondering and want to know who these crazy people are, you will be surprised:
One of the protagonists is Crihs. He was born in the Dominican Republic. He cycles since his fourth year of life and lives in New York since 1985. If he is not just winding trough the rush hour with spectacular stunts, he studies photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Another starring role is Kai, the youngest of the eight and currently on high school. He also photographs passionately. You see, both are semi-ordinary people!

Does anyone know when the film will be released?
