Shepard Fairey is a street art legend known for his OBEY campaign, Obama election poster, and early pioneering role in the international street art movement.
Shepard Fairey stands as one of the most influential pioneers of the international street art movement, achieving legendary status through his iconic OBEY campaign and politically charged artistic interventions.
Through decades of wheat-pasting, stenciling, and large-scale murals, Fairey has consistently used his platform to address social justice issues, war, and environmental concerns, proving that street art can transcend underground culture to influence mainstream political and social conversations on a global scale.
Obey the Giant - The Shepard Fairey Biopic
Shepard Fairy aka Obey The Giant is not just the head behind the well-known Obama election poster and this cover for Time Magazine’s Person of the Year 2011 issue. No, he also is one of the early-birds of the international street art movement, a true legend if you like to call it that way and for that reason got his tribute in one of the latest The Simpsons episodes! Now, Shepard is going to get his own first film: Obey The Giant - The Shepard Fairey biopic…

Black Hills Not 4 Sale!
The Black Hills (named after their dark appearance from a distance) are a small, isolated mountain range rising from the Great Plains of North America in western South Dakota. In November 2011, Shepard Fairey and his team created a huge mural in Los Angeles to call attention on the many problems of the native’s reservation…
We worked together with Shepard Fairey over the next several months to collaborate and bring something to the streets of Los Angeles. With help from Miguel of La Barracuda this 20x60 wall on Melrose Ave at Fairfax was secured. What you see here is the culmination of the tireless efforts of Aaron Huey and Shepard Fairey.

Shepard Fairey: Protester of the Year
Urban art legend Shepard Fairey just did it again: After he designed the Obama cover for Time Magazine’s Person of the Year issue back in 2008, he also designed the latest cover which this year honors the Protester and features stories from the Arab Spring to the Occupy Wall Street movement.
In my eyes taking Shepard Fairey’s design was a good decision. I mean, who could be a better than someone who’s famous around the globe for a certain, eye-catching propaganda look and feel and who also started his career on the streets around the world with his subversive Obey campaign?!

Shepard Fairey, Oslo Memorial
After visiting Copenhagen a few days ago, popular propaganda artist Shepard Fairey continues his Scandinavia tour and recently arrived in Oslo. To honour the victims of the terror of July 22, his staff created a huge memorial mural at Kirkeveien 59 communicating peace in bold letters!
I don’t know whether it’s good being reminded of that tragedy every single day by a huge memorial, but detached from that Shepard Fairey established with that massive paste-up mural a new attraction in the city of Oslo.

Shepard Fairey Mural, Copenhagen
Famous propaganda artist Shepard Fairey recently visited one of my favorite European capitals and did something I didn’t suspected! After all this paste-up installations he left behind in almost every bigger city around the world, he yet again painted a massive mural in Copenhagen!
Shepard Fairey and the Obey crew beautify walls in and around Copenhagen. This particular peace dove mural was their first effort and located on Jagtvej 69, 2200 Nørrebro for those in town. (Molotow)

VNA #15 - Street Art Mag 4 Free
Shepard Fairey, Logan Hicks, Burning Candy, Nychos, Elph and other interesting urban artists are featured in the latest issue of the Very Nearly Almost magazine, which also includes one of my Urban Artists in Action shots and photo-specials not just about London and LA, but also about Berlin!
Because of so much awesome, the VNA crew had to squeeze in extra 32 pages to make it all fit, which is why this issue is the biggest in VNA history! Fortunately I recently received two issues of the number 15, for what reason I am able to give away one VNA mag for free…

Berlinale - Banksy Film Tickets
For about 2 hours, I aligned myself with almost 150 other people at the Kino International yesterday, to get tickets for Banksy’s “Exit Through The Gift Shop” street art movie - And now I’m a proud owner of two tickets for the film!
“Exit Through The Gift Shop” is a documentation film, which contains exclusive footage of Banksy, and many of the world’s most infamous graffiti artists, including Shepard Fairey, Mr. Brainwash or Sweet Toof, at work.

Banksy - Street Art Movie
On march the fifth, Banksy will be with you! As BBC wrote today, a brilliant street art film will come to the cinemas in Great Britain. It’s a film about a world without rules, where one man broke them all. It’s a Banksy film! It’s called Exit Through The Gift Shop.
The film is billed as the world’s first street art disaster movie. For this reason, it looks like a film of a man who wanted to film Banksy but failed. Nevertheless there are a lot of famous urban artists, like Shepard Fairey, in the movie. I’m very curious to see the film. Here is a excerpt of the BBC’s article:
