Some days ago, i actually wrote about the European Invasion by Obey aka Shepard Fairey with some really nice photos of his poster actions in London, Paris and Amsterdam.
Today I found this nice video of that action days. It includes a small statement by Obey and a lot of nice impressions from the streets.
I started in 1989 with that images of “André the Giant”, the wrestler, just as an inside-joke with some friends. But I really want it to put across the idea of an image, calling the use of public space in the question.

Levi’s & Urban Art
Almost every bigger fashion label used street art or graffiti for their commercials or got directly in contact with international urban art protagonists in the last years. A few already have their own gallery! Street art is popular and for this reason en vogue.
Also jeans fabricator Levi’s goes with the trend and brought two well-known urban artists on board of its advertising campaigns in the last weeks.
On the one hand, Shepard Fairey made a whole poster series - the Levi’s collaboration graphics - in his famous Obey-style and on the other hand, KR designed some jeans and jackets for them.

Obey: European Invasion
For years, Obey aka Shepard Fairey is a well-respected artist on the streets around the globe. Even though it’s been a while ago that he pasted his well-known Obey posters and stickers, they can be found on and off the streets till now - although there are only a few.
But that’s history, because Obey was on European invasion some days ago! That means, that there are new giant poster walls and new stickers on the street signs of Amsterdam, Paris and London now!
