Alex Diamond has a crazy style. The comic-influenced drawings and paintings are floating around in Europe for some years. For me there’s almost nothing more interesting than an abandoned industry area, old and uninhabited houses or those lonely and lonesome places between houses in the urban landscape. If your aren’t Scottish, you have maybe never heard about the great and fantastic “Ghostvillage Project”. Some weeks ago, six more or less renowned urban artists - Timid, Remi/Rough, System, Stormie Mills, Juice 126 and Derm - meet each other for three days on the west coast of Scotland to repaint an abandoned 1970s village. Working together on huge collaborative walls and individually in hidden nooks and crannies all over the site the artists realised long held dreams and were inspired by the bleakness and remoteness of the site. Inky is the remaining part of the Russian street art duo Incubus Project, which gain a lot of popularity while their participation at the graffiti and street art festival “Names” in Prague in 2008. I love it to see paintings and other artworks at abandoned places like old factory sites or derelict ruins: The power and colorfulness of the artworks in contradistinction to the gray, grungy and lifeless buildings and walls. I have really a lot of street art book here at home. I have artists collection books, like the “The Art of Rebellion” books by C100, some books about single artists, but the mass are street art books about specific cities. There are “Street Art in Berlin”, “Paris Street Art”, “City Language Berlin” and others. In this series another book recently joined. It’s entitled “Textura - Valencia Street Art”. Written by Luz A. Martín, the book describes the street art and graffiti culture of Spain’s 3rd largest city. On about 140 pages Martín placed beautiful photographs, documenting texts and seven interviews with well known street artists of Valencia. ...

Do you know Dan23? No, it’s no new spray-paint. He’s an very interesting French urban artist, who did a lot of great (spray-) paintings in urban landscape…I recently read an article about him and thought, that you should also know him and his really good artworks! I like skate-parks. I like it to make some nice shots of boys and girls skating, flying and falling down. I like the atmosphere of those places, where young urban people spent their spare time. And I love it, when there’s some colorful interior! In Swiss Lugano, a urban art collective, named Nevercrew, painted a whole skate pool some time ago.
