“Sparkle and Fade” is the name of the new exhibition by internationally-known graffiti artist Peeta, which takes place at the Pretty Portal Gallery in Düsseldorf at the end of this week. It’s his first art show in Germany! For more than 16 years, the Italian urban artist perfects his outstanding and startling 3D-style with its organic and typographic elements. Since 2000, he’s a member of the famous New Yorker-based FX crew and works on different projects around the world. ...

Between November 6th and 15th, the “Forum for Light in Art & Architecture - Glow” will take place in Eindhoven! This years subject is “Being public”, what refers to the idea of seeing public space as an open space without any access restrictions and as the space of open discourses and free shaping of collective opinions. “Due to the dedication of “CityDynamiek Eindhoven”, from November, 6th to 15th, 2009, the city center of Eindhoven turns again into a forum of interventions, installations, performances and events based on the phenomena of artificial light.” ...

In 2008, the two talented Norwegian urban artists Dolk and Pøbel hit the fjords of Norway and painted abandoned houses! The pictures from back then went around the world. This project is ongoing with more works added this year! To set the mood for new huge mural artworks, the video documentation “Living Decay” was published. It’s a suggestive daily log, that narrates through 4 tales, the making of these huge paintings inside the unique northern landscape. ...

I like the abstract character of the artworks by urban artists Nuria and El Tono! Both belong to the most famous street painters worldwide although or even because of their simple style with its great recognition value. El Tono and Nuria use tape and acrylic-paint for their artworks, which are at first view actually not more than colorful lines, but at the second or third view the spectator recognized the architectural influence. ...

“Combo - A Collaborative Animation” is a new and amazing motion painting animation done by famous street artists, painters and filmmakers Blu and David Ellis. It’s one of their artworks for the urban art festival “Fame” in Grottaglie, Italy. Blu and David Ellis combine in this action the interesting location of an old, abandoned house, a lot paint and their inspiring creativity to a synthesis of the arts, which can only be viewed in this video. I love it!

They jump, they climb, they get freaky - Since yesterday, there’s an other amazing urban extreme sports video clip, called “Out of Time”, on the web. Some guys from Russia filmed their Parkour-inspired playground action and made a respectable fifteen minutes video out of it. Their main focus is on some big monkey bars, but they’re also jumping from roof to roof or into the water… ...

I love them - these hardly trained but still spontaneous acting mass-events midway through the public urban space with hundreds of dancing, singing and moving people. Phenomenal! This time one of these so called flashmobs went into the Antwerp central station and sparks a lot of people with an amazing dance interlude. Under the unbelieving and impressed looks of plenty of passengers, about 200 flashmob dancers including children, danced to a famous song whose title I unfortunately forgot… ...
