For over a decade, the legendary Toasters crew hits cities around the globe, spreading their famous icon (a toaster of course) far and wide! A year ago the first trailer for their own documentary saw the light of day and now time almost has come… The Toasters Worldwide The Toasters, that are three Wolverhampton natives with contacts all over the world (and especially to Italian Ultras), who were into street art already at the early beginning, when street art had not been pigeonholed as street art and lots of its today’s protagonists had been neither that famous. I’m not quite sure why they’ve chosen a toaster as their logo, but what I know is that they used it to establish their own brand very well! ...

Spanish urban artist Spidertag who is quite well-known in Europe for his yarn bombing artworks (he calls them spider tags) just spent the last days in abandoned buildings in Porto, Portugal and of course created some new stuff using nothing more than a few nails, a hammer and some yarn! It’s all about nails, yarn, geometry, abstraction and streets. (Spidertag) Spidertag got quite popular in Berlin, when he visited the city for several weeks back in 2011. Among other things he created together with yarn artists Moneyless and Hottea that one spot for a well-known sports equipment manufacturer… ...

Nelio, Tblr*one and Zerozedrip recently redesigned a wooden fence into a nice palisade in the heart of the French city of Besançon! The entire action, which was documented by Sofarida, is part of the Bien Urbain street art festival. The festival’s aim is to make people realize the power of art on our everyday life perception on museums, theaters or clubs, and also on the streets, for what reason they invited several European street artists to participate… ...

Like M-City, Zbiok, Remed, Zonenkinder, 2Shy and other urban artists, also French street artist Louis Lambert aka 3ttman, who used to live in Madrid for quite a while, recently was invited by the Kiev street art festival Muralissimo to paint a facade in the Ukraine capital! Organized by the local Lavra Art Gally and supported by different European embassies, the Muralissimo festival tries to underline Kiev’s cosmopolitan attitudes with reference to the European football championship Euro 2012. ...

It’s running not that well for Greece at the moment - you all know that - but it looks like that at least artists like Pavlos Tsakonas keeo on working for a better future… Today I came across the fantastic No Signal mural, painted by Panos Sklavenitis in Athens and have to say that I loved it at a first glance! Practically you could describe it as a perfect metaphor for the interrupted connection between politics and people - I don’t know whether this or something similar was the artist’s intention, but I’m pretty sure many people will understand it like that. In August 2011, 72 international urban artists, including for example Shoe, Aryz, Nick Walker, Mr. Jago, El Mac and SPQR (just to name a few), came together in Bristol, UK to celebrate Europe’s largest street art event. With about 13,000 involved spray-cans a whole street, including then huge buildings was transformed into a massive outdoor art gallery during See No Evil… Recently, Hurricane Media published their video documentary of the entire event and gives in that way a great insight into the ideas behind the event, which attracted thousands of visitors, and its final realization. Riddled with some nice impressions of the live painting actions the video documents not just the final pieces but also the amazing festival atmosphere. ...

For some (like me) he is just a very popular street artist, for others he is a legend, worth to write down all the myths around him… In his book Banksy: Myths and Legends, Marc Leverton collected stories about Banksy himself.
