Urban Art Festival | After Best Ever and Ben Slow now highly talented London-based stencil artist FinDAC and well-known Berlin-based abstract graffiti artist Morten Andersen rock the city of Brest! It’s the second episode of the urban art festival “Crimes of Minds” which is organised by French graffiti artist Liliwenn and the non-profit organization Sugar Rush… The idea behind that event is to bring the creative flair of the big metropolises around the world to this small French town and to document the artworks as well as the artists at work and additionally the reactions of the citizens. For that reason there will be a book recapitulating the entire “Crimes of Minds” process! ...

blu kracow mural Mural Art | The master of European mural art Blu recently finished another masterpiece wall in the beautiful Polish city of Kracow! Although I don’t know whether the mural’s chief subject - a big bell - is somehow special, this time’s topic seems to be religion and its stupid noises you can’t fail to hear… In addition to all the other fantastic wall paintings Blu already created in Europe, this again is a great example of politically-inspired urban art. Urban Action | I know it’s a controversial topic (especially because of a lot of people died!) but for some people train-surfing is just another kind of an urban extreme sport. Although it’s illegal and dangerous - some would say because of - the small train-surfers scene experienced highlights in different countries in the last years. Nowadays, Russian teenagers in Moscow revive this formerly unfashionable sport again… A new extreme and illegal sport, known as train surfing, is sweeping Russia’s capital. Dozens of young daredevils risk their lives to fight daily boredom and brighten their leisure. The craze involves riding on top or at the side of fast moving carriages, clinging on with their hands or with the aid of a belt. (Russia Today) ...

Urban Art Festival | Do you remember the post about the French urban art event “Crimes of Minds”? The festival, organized by French graffiti artist Liliwenn finally started! The two British urban artists Best Ever and Ben Slow just started to paint some walls in the city of Brest and also Guy Denning is on his way to join this festival… The aim of this project is to push the boundaries of street art to eventually be integrated into contextual art. The artist works directly on the ground of reality bringing his world to it. The artistic expression will even be exposed in the heart of the city directly touching the public. Madrid Street Art | As some of you already know, I visited Madrid this Spring at La Pluma Eléctri*k’s invitation. Chance brought it about that I got a new camera (which allows me to film in HD!) some days before the trip started, for what reason, I not just took some nice shots but played around with it during all the excursions through the Spanish capital! I ended up with several hours footage of our city walks and fantastic street artworks by Roa, Blu, Sabek, Astronaut, Nuria, Rallito X and many more… ...

Urban Art | Seems to be quite cold over there in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg at the moment! Nevertheless, the famous urban art duo Herakut hit the streets of this snowbound city and created, by assistance of the neighborhood kids, another huge mural in their well-known style of rough street-influenced lines and photo-realistic details… Although I didn’t master the Russian language, I somehow understood (by the help of a famous translation tool) that this mural was painted on a wall of the local protectory for children and that the corresponding documentation is part of an upcoming documentary about this children’s home, which is called “Our House”! ...

Street Art | Italian stencil art duo Orticanoodles recently published photos of their latest stencil art series, which could easily been described as next level stencil art with a nice liability to absurd pop styles. The overlaying topic of theses new works, including artwork titles like “Pop Never Die”, “Skate or Die” or “Pop Uber Alles” (showing Mr. A. Hitler), seems to be death or dieing in general. Orticanoodles, who had their first Paris solo-show about a year ago, light with their new stencil artworks a beacon of hope that stenciling also improves itself and doesn’t has to be similar stuff again and again reproduced… ...

Right after I published the post about “Urban Art vs. Ad World”, another big anti-advert action took place in Spain! Around 100 urban artists from all over the world, including 3ttman, Bronco, El Tono, Jerm IX, Know Hope, Ludo, Luzinterruptus, Rero, Skount, Various & Gould and others, joined the “Madrid Street Advertising Takeover” (MaSAT) which recently took place in the heart of the Spanish capital. For that reason, Madrid is now able to get in line with cities like New York and Berlin, were similar events happened before… ...

Madrid Street Art | As some of you already know, I used the announced posting break to travel to Madrid to have some relaxed days with friends and to have a look at what’s going on in the Spanish capital. Although the weather hasn’t been as good as desired we explored large parts of the city, especially around Tirso de Molina, Sol, Calle de Atocha and Chueca, visited the Museo Reina Sofia to have a close look at Picasso’s masterpiece “Guernica”, took the “Teleférico” (a cable car), visited the great “Tabacalera” art space and of course discovered a lot of great street artworks by Nuria, Sabek, La Pluma Eléctri*k, Blu, BR1, Roa, Rallito X and many more! ...

Urban Art Festival | “Crimes of Minds” is a massive urban art event which takes place in the beautiful French city of Brest.
