Street Art Documentary | London’s Brick Lane is something like the epicentre for creativity and young, modern life-style in London. Especially around the old Truman Brewery with its galleries, bars and markets a lot of the otherwise shy London street art can be found. With his upcoming street art documentary “Brick Lane in Art” film-maker Shafiur Rahman wants to sketch a creative portrait of this Europe-wide well-know street and its surrounding area. Street Alphabet | Do you remember the photo-documentary I did of famous graffiti and street artist Ben Eine painting a wall for the Moniker Art Fair in London? While I took photos, East London based creative producer Abbie Brandon took some nice video footage and interviewed Ben. Now she finished her film about a weekend in Ben Eine’s life… The doc was filmed over a weekend (plus a Friday night before and some neatening up on the Monday). Graffiti Artist in Action | Do you remember all the urban artists like Herakut or Ben Eine who did live paintings as a part of the Moniker Art Fair earlier this year? Another famous artist who painted at Village Underground was Hamilton Yokota aka Titi Freak! While the São Paulo-born graffiti artist created a colorful mural on one of these nice brick walls in East London, I took some photos of him in action. Herakut is probably the most famous and popular urban art duo from Germany. Their impressing mixture of rough, dirty painting and photo-realistic elements is well-known all over the world. In October, I met both of them at the Moniker Art Fair in London and had the chance to document their live painting at Village Underground. I really enjoyed watching them painting one of these typical London brick walls and in my opinion they did a great job again. Stencil Art Studio | London-based stencil artist FinDAC is quite popular at the moment and I can truly understand why people like his fine stencil artworks - just remember the very successful exhibition of his beautiful Jimi Hendrix artworks some weeks ago! Last month, when I still was in London, he invited me to visit his studio in South London and of course I did. It was just the time when he created the paper stencils for that nice wall he spray-painted later at the Stroke.03 Urban Art Fair in Berlin and I remember, I was highly impressed by the great details and size of each stencil layer… ...

Artist in Action | Last month, famous Austrian graffiti artist Nychos exhibited at Pure Evil Gallery in London. During his stay in the British capital I caught up with him on top of a roof in Shoreditch and took a nice graffiti action photo-series. Thanks to the bright sun and my friend Probs for making the shooting possible and to Revert and Inkfetish for the good company! Nychos, who is mainly known around the globe for his prolific street art concept “Rabbit Eye Movement”, combines in his urban artworks his cartoonist and illustrator attitude as well as his personal development and a big portion of humorous remarks and fun. ...
