Seak One & his Blackbook

While I was in Paris some days ago, I was able to take some shots of Seak One’s blackbook! As you can see on the photos, he explains the development of some of his recent artworks. For me it was interesting to see how his abstract-looking 3D spray-paints are inspired by letters. Or how the Cologne city coat of arms influenced the graffiti he did on the Thalys. C215 Exhibition in Paris

I love this amazing stencil art stuff by Christian Guemy alias C215. This and the fact, that he is one of the most talented urban artists I know, are the reasons for the interview I did with him some months ago. C215 Exhibition in Paris Since this Monday, his recent solo exhibition is taking place at the Pierre Cardin Gallery in Paris. I was happy about that date, ’cause I visited the French capital and street art metropolis at the same time, but unfortunately I had a full schedule - meeting Vito & Romuald, making a street art tour through Belleville (photos will be uploaded soon), documenting the “Graffiti meets Thalys” event and so on - so I could not visit the impressive C215 exhibition. ...

Graffiti meets Thalys Photos

As I wrote two days ago, international high-speed train operator Thalys invited me to document the “Graffiti meets Thalys” live event, which took place at “Gare du Nord” (North Station) in Paris yesterday. Four Six well-known and famous European writers - Seak One (Cologne), Sozy One (Brussels), JonOne 156 (Paris) and Zedz (Amsterdam) - had to paint a train as fast as Thalys will soon take to get from Paris to Cologne or Amsterdam, 3 hours and 15 minutes. ...

Graffiti meets Thalys in Paris

At this moment I’m on the way to Paris, where the train manufacturer Thalys will have its “Graffiti meets Thalys” live event tomorrow. In addition to the graffiti artists Seak One from Cologne and Sozy One from Brussels, the writer JonOne 156 from Paris and Zedz from Amsterdam will duly bring the railway line on stream by painting 4 whole-trains within three hours. Of course I will try to photographically document this graffiti event. But before the live performance will start tomorrow, I will meet the authors of the “Paris Street Art” book, Romuald Stivine and Vito today. Linocut, Typography, Paris

About four months has Mark Andrew Webber spent to design his new artwork and the past two months he carves it: An enormous linocut map of Paris! But that’s not the highlight! The whole map is a typographic interpretation of the French street and building names. With its 1.8 metres across, it’s an fantastic artwork! “With this Paris map, I’ve tried my hardest to make it accurate, but I’m not a French speaker so it’s bloody hard.
