Glitsh - Parking Space Tape Art
Do you know Glitsh? I think she’s a Swedish designer and urban artist with some really interesting intervention concepts.
She has a partiality for changing the content of things you could buy at the supermarket. For example for her “Hello Shitty” action from 2008, she replaced a “Hello Kitty” puzzle with a puzzle of a soldier…

Faith47 - Lost Spaces
South-African graffiti artist Faith47 is one of the best-known female urban artists worldwide. Yesterday, she uploaded her recent and very interesting video, called Epitaph.
Epitaph is an exploration of lost spaces entered through sounds and images to reveal the echoes of empty rooms, flakes of paint, swollen curves, fragile lines, stories hidden in the flat colors broken apart by wood and steel…
Faith47’s artwork, which was part of the last urban top shots, was created for this documentation of abandoned places. Take a look!

Battle of Branchage: 3D Projection Mapping on an Ancient Castle
Imagine an ancient castle, its weathered stones suddenly pulsating with vibrant colors and dynamic shapes. This is the captivating experience offered by Seeper’s “Battle of Branchage,” a groundbreaking 3D architectural projection that pushes the boundaries of light and art.
Seeper, an interactive arts and technology collective founded in 1998, was invited to the Branchage Film Festival in Jersey to create this mesmerizing installation. Using a single Christie 25k projector, they meticulously mapped their animations onto the façade of a historic castle, transforming its static architecture into a dynamic canvas.

Obey in Europe - Video
Some days ago, i actually wrote about the European Invasion by Obey aka Shepard Fairey with some really nice photos of his poster actions in London, Paris and Amsterdam.
Today I found this nice video of that action days. It includes a small statement by Obey and a lot of nice impressions from the streets.
I started in 1989 with that images of “André the Giant”, the wrestler, just as an inside-joke with some friends. But I really want it to put across the idea of an image, calling the use of public space in the question.

L’Atlas in New York
Yes, i love his artworks! Yes, he is one of my idols and a great inspirational source. Yes, some of my tape artworks are mainly influenced by him. Yes, I talk about L’Atlas!
French street artist L’Atlas is currently in New York for his “City Fragments” urban art exhibition. His internationally-known and outstanding artworks became a symbol of the modern mixture of playful typography and the accuracy of architectural presets.
Whether with paint, tape or chalk, there are no borders for L’Atlas’ unique style. His signs, letters and compasses are highly recognizable and and there is no restriction on their sizes.

Glow - Light Art & Architecture
Between November 6th and 15th, the “Forum for Light in Art & Architecture - Glow” will take place in Eindhoven! This years subject is “Being public”, what refers to the idea of seeing public space as an open space without any access restrictions and as the space of open discourses and free shaping of collective opinions.
“Due to the dedication of “CityDynamiek Eindhoven”, from November, 6th to 15th, 2009, the city center of Eindhoven turns again into a forum of interventions, installations, performances and events based on the phenomena of artificial light.”

Sam3 Book - Sombras
“Sombras” is the name of the new mural art book by Spanish street artist Sam3! After he printed his own small book, called “Tirá me de la lengua”, at the beginning of this year, he decided to make a real hardcover book about his outdoor artworks.
Sam3 is, like many other urban artists too, a globetrotter - his well-known mural artworks can be found all over the world. For this reason, “Sombras” shows not only his impressing works, but also the different locations and cities where he painted.

El Tono & Nuria in Spain
I like the abstract character of the artworks by urban artists Nuria and El Tono! Both belong to the most famous street painters worldwide although or even because of their simple style with its great recognition value.
El Tono and Nuria use tape and acrylic-paint for their artworks, which are at first view actually not more than colorful lines, but at the second or third view the spectator recognized the architectural influence.

“Type the Sky” by Lisa Rienermann
Although Lisa Rienermann’s “Type the Sky” project is from 2007, I first heard about it yesterday.
“Type the Sky” is a photographic alphabet consisting of sky-snippets, which are framed by houses…it’s hard to describe…sorry! Take a look yourself!
It was awarded by the Type Directors Club New York in 2007 and was uses by the car manufacturers Mercedes and Renault for their advertising-campaigns!
In my opinion Lisa’s artwork is a great combination of my three major interests - as you know urban landscapes, typography and photography! For me it’s nice to see, what is possible with a sharped eye and a cam in a city!
