Abstract Graffiti: Graphic Surgery in Dresden
After that phenomenal collaboration with Nawer in Krakow, the Amsterdam-based urban art duo Graphic Surgery just finished a new mural!
Located in Dresden, Germany, the 25 meters high wall has been painted as a part of the CityBilder project, which recently took place in town and also includes urban artworks by Frm & Otecki, Moneyless, Saddo, Jens Besser and others. The finished mural now shows an abstract bundle of black and white lines and is simply named Bauhaus after the famous German school for crafts and fine arts. Here are some pics…

Guerrilla, A Street Intervention
Guerrilla, A Street Intervention is a nice half-animated short film by Sjors Vervoort which had its premiere back in August in all Dutch Pathé cinema’s, as a The Rise of the Planet of the Apes supporting film! I just stumbled upon that nice project today and loved to watch it - the idea is smart, the outworking authentical and the urban environment and atmosphere great. Supported by the Netherlands Film Funds, the films main actors consists of cardboard, plastic bags and some nice ideas…

How & Nosm Mural, Los Angeles
Spanish-born twins How & Nosm currently painted a massive mural in Los Angeles! As a part of the L.A. Freewalls project, the mural sticks out a mile and is probably one of the largest murals I’ve seen in the last months…
What first started as a simple version of the Anarcho-syndicalistic black-red flag worked out in the end as an impressing, detailed wall painting! In my eyes, the mural was the best and effective advert for their Achtung! show, which recently opened its doors in LA’s Known Gallery.

Banksy, Myths & Legends
For some (like me) he is just a very popular street artist, for others he is a legend, worth to write down all the myths around him…
In his book Banksy: Myths and Legends, Marc Leverton collected stories about Banksy himself. Compiled between 2009 and 2011, some of these stories have been told so many times they have become the stuff of legend, while others are more questionable and can best be described as myths.

VNA meets Invader
After that marvellous 15th issue of UK’s VNA magazine, some weeks ago the next one was released including a large feature of French tile/ pixel artist Invader!
Recently the VNA crew published a nice teaser documenting their meet and greet with the famous street artist, showing a neat insight into the interview which can be found entirely in the 16th VNA issue. I already got my copy for what reason I can promise, that it’s worth it!

Clemens Behr, New Cardboard Installations
My friend, Berlin-based urban artist Clemens Behr recently updated his website and added some neat photos of his latest cardboard installations from Amiens, Paris, Berlin, Vienna and Malmo and again - after these dope installations in New York and Barcelona - I’m highly impressed about what’s possible to create by simply using cardboard, tape, wood and paint…
Behr has taken his work into the public sphere, building peculiar appendages in metro cars and erecting detailed miniature cities on street corners. (about Clemens Behr)

Ozmo’s Big Fish Mural, London
For a few weeks I have a nice new contact over in London. Her name is Petra Valenti, she is a talented photographer (check out her latest works on tumblr!) and knows the local street art and graffiti scene quite well, for what reason she will be some kind of a roving reporter for Urbanartcore in future.
The first of her photo-series I’d like to show you is the documentary of the new Big Fish Eat Small Fish mural by Italian painter and street artist Gionata Gesi aka Ozmo which was done during the last days! Again he used his well-known illustrative collage-style to create a new, astonishing painting. In my eyes, the result is just fantastic, clean and a real eye-catcher as is Petra’s photo-documentary…

Manolis Anastasakos: Praying in Athens
When I stumbled upon the huge new mural by Manolis Anastasakos and the Kretsis crew in Athens two days ago, I was highly impressed - and not just me! For example on Facebook, the Albrecht Dürer inspired 600m² (!) mural with the catchy name He, is praying for us, got about 370 likes within two days, for what reason I can’t ignore it anymore and have to post about the great upside down version of Dürer’s Praying Hands, Manolis and his friends created in the last days…

Rero, La Jarry, Paris
I just received an e-mail by well-known French urban artist Rero, who informed me about a ruthless initiative by the city of Paris, who plans to break down the beautiful La Jarry, an old, huge and crazy building near Paris, which is used by many artists as studio and exhibition space…
To escape of this tragic end, several artists organised the exhibition-series Saving La Jarry, which also includes a work by Rero, who was invited to paint one big word on the huge facade: the crossed out letters PARADIGM! Rero describes it as follows:

Doomsday: Danny Doom in Action
During the IBUg 2011 preparation week I got the chance to document Berlin-based urban artist and creative mastermind Danny Doom aka Desur aka Doctor Doom while creating some nice paintings using spray-cans and brushes…

Amongst others prices and rewards he received the reddot award, the if communication award and was winning finalist in both new york show time and new york festival award. (about Danny Doom)
