Urban Art Books | Because it’s almost Christmas, I had the idea to give you a small list of books, I recommend as a Christmas present. The following three books are in my opinion the top urban art books of 2010 and for that reason I’m pretty sure, the presentee will be also happy with them. Here we go…
Art of Rebellion 3 - The book about street art
For me, it’s worth having all the three “Art of Rebellion” books by Christian Hundertmark aka C100. The latest one was published in November by Publikat and includes photos of urban artwork by the most famous street and graffiti artists around the globe. For more info, read the small review I already wrote about this book! It’s possible to grab it for about 30 Euro on Amazon. ISBN: 978-3939566298
Street Sketchbook - Journeys
Another fantastic book about urban art and its protagonists is the successor of the “Street Sketchbook” by Tristan Manco. Including interviews and illustrated with sketchbooks and behind the scenes photographs this book features extraordinary artists from around the world. It was published in September by Thames & Hudson and I visited the release party when I stayed in London and was highly impressed by this book. For around 25 Euro it’s yours! ISBN: 978-0500515150
Trespass - A History Of Uncommissioned Urban Art
The third and last book I can recommend is the “Trespass” book which was also recommended by the famous Wooster Collective and several other artist. It was published in September by Taschen and is also available for round about 25 Euro. It includes not just street art but also interventions, artistic protest and propaganda art, etc. ISBN: 978-3836509640
I hope I could help you with that list. If you need some more suggestions, zap though all the other books I already wrote about…
