Trash Art | Under the slogan “Making it pretty for garbage men since 2009” a group of talented young Bulgarian calligraphers beautify bulky waste in the streets of Sofia.
In my opinion that’s what the original street art is all about: Pure urban art without any commercial attitudes, fun, friends and creative output. Armed just with markers the crew draws on every former worthless surface and prettifies in that way the streets of their city.
Some years ago a lot of artists like for example Nomad did similar things, but stopped doing it when ordinary people started to collect the painted bulk trash…however.
The so-called Trash Lovers document their doings on their blog and also multidisciplinary artist Dimo Trifonov recently published a nice three-minutes-film about the crew. I hope to see more of their artworks and especially similar project in the streets of Berlin in near future!
