Big news for all writers, graffiti enthusiasts and vandals: Famous writer and graffiti artist Revok is going to open his first solo-show in Germany at Hamburg’s Vicious Gallery! Bringing together triumph and tragedy (that’s the title of the show), the Los Angeles based urban artist seems to present artworks based on found objects taken from the ruins of Detroit…
As the found materials, also Revok’s history represents triumph and tragedy at the same time. Having one of his major successes by being part of this year’s Art in the Streets exhibit at LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art, he was sentenced to 180 days in jail by a judge a short while after the opening. For that reason, I think Revok’s Hamburg exhibition will include some highly personal artworks showing a mixture of great success but also downfall.
A must to see for everyone having the chance to be in Hamburg next month! My friends from graffuturism.com got some more photos!
Date: December 3th | Location: Vicious Gallery, Kleine Freiheit 46, 22767 Hamburg
