The free eBook from 2011, which is written by one of the top urban exploration photographers, gives not just some fantastic insights into this popular leisure-time activity by including dope photos of decaying and neglected buildings, rooftops and more, but also discusses interesting aspects like how and why people are willing to risk their lives by climbing through abandoned areas or why Urbex has a political dimension.
Furthermore, the 35 pages guide tells you good-to-know aspects about what equipment you should have on your next urban exploration trip and comes up with a bag of tricks and best-practices about urban photography in areas with e.g. difficult lighting conditions!
After I found the link on Ektopia, I skimmed the text and got that special feeling I usually have before entering an abandoned building! Hopefully I will soon have time again to hit some of the many nice abandoned spots in Berlin…
In my eyes, the Urban Exploration Photography eBook is highly suitable for all those being new to the urban exploring topic and those who are photography beginners (there’s also a chapter about post-production)!
