# Urban Lines: Art of Popof

*Urban Painting* | Just minutes ago [I stumbled upon](http://vitostreet.ekosystem.org/2010/12/les-sillons-de-popof-video/) the fantastic murals - or more general urban paintings - by Paris-based urban artist **Popof**.

Until now I’d never heard about the Moscow-born son of an Russian journalist and dissident, who came in contact with graffiti in 1989 and found his way to the French capital. But I have to say when I saw his latest project called *“Sillons”* (English furrows) first, I was impressed. These abstract urban lines he creates are so simple, but the effect is awesome!

Make sure to have a closer look at his brush-tool, I’m rather sure it’s a self-made thing...and when you visit [his profile on Myspace](http://www.myspace.com/artofpopof), you’ll find some more videos...
